Hello Tabassum! Thanks for sharing your listing with us! I must say your outfits can easily woo the fashionistas out there.

Below are a few tips to help you improve your listing. Hope this helps!

Photos: On Etsy, you have to use your own images for your listings. To do justice to your own craftsmanship, we ask that you represent any physical item being sold with a photograph of that actual item. For custom orders, you are welcome to use example images of previous work.

Using others’ photos, stock images of items, or digitally created images is not permitted because they do not accurately represent the item that will be delivered to your buyers.

It’s really important to highlight your product values that helps customers understand why it’s unique. I would recommend adding packaging shots as the festive season is just around the corner and this might help them visualise what they will be receiving. For inspiration, please check out the article: https://www.etsy.com/in-en/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Adding to the photos, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

(Click Add a video if you’d like to add a short video showcasing additional details about your listing. Click Choose to upload your video. Your video may be 5–15 seconds long and will not contain any audio once uploaded to your listing. Ideal resolution for your video is at least 1080px. You can only add one video per listing)

Title: Focus on writing clear and descriptive titles that make it easy for shoppers who are scanning a busy search results page to see what you’re selling. I would suggest you to limit yourself to 3-4 phrases and put the rest in your tags. Perhaps something like “Off white net saree, Hand embroidered ethnic saree, Customised party wear sarees”

Tags: It looks like as of now you have used 8 tags and you can actually get upto 13! It’s really important to be descriptive here and use diverse terms to reach your potential buyers. Instead  of using terms like “pristine white, functional wear, best seller sarees”, try adding phrases like “pearl white saree, wedding sarees, bridal sarees, Indian sarees, daughters day gift”.

Product Description: This section has all the features and benefits that helps shoppers understand your product better. Make sure to add necessary information like sizing, usage, materials, inspiration, type of work and care instructions to influence your customers to purchase.

Thanks for submitting your product. All the best!

Best,

Shweta

Hi Mou! Hope you are doing great. Thank you for submitting your listing.

The tie dye is a huge trend these days, I love the scarf!

I have been through your shop and I can see that you are really working on your shop. I really like the colorful patterns of the scarves which can go on any outfit and will surely give a pleasant look.

However, I have a few suggestions to make: Talking about your title, I think you’ve done a great job with your title but I wonder if you might want to make it more specific? For Example, “blue turquoise tie dye scarf, feather leaf patterned cotton stole” will make for a good title!

Coming to the tags, it looks like you’re using tags for your listing (which is important!). Make sure you use all available tags with diverse terms so that you get as many opportunities as possible to get your items in front of buyers in search. It looks like as of now you’ve used 3 tags and you actually get up to 13! Consider adding, Hand dyed scarf, Indigo Blue scarves, Navy, Blue Scarf, Indigo Shibori scarf, Navy silk scarf, Blue silk scarf, Navy Blue silk scarf, Shibori dye scarf, Handcrafted Scarves, Summer weddings, Gifts for her etc. in your tags!

Add some variety to your photos. Right now you have really clear photos of what the item is, but it might be nice to show the piece styled, or worn out on the beach to show what it might look like in-use. You could also consider hanging the piece on a hanger to display it instead of just laying it flat. This could show more dimension and be a little more styled.

Additionally, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

Finally,  I would recommend you add information to your shop’s “about section” and clear shop policies (return, shipping, exchange etc.) to your shop, this helps a shopper to know when they’ll receive the product!

I wish you all the very best for your beautiful shop.

Best,

Shweta

Hi Swati!

Hope you are doing well

Thank you for submitting your listing.

I have had a chance to review your listing and before I share my suggestions for your listings, I must say that I love the intricate design on the saree.

I love how you have added 5 different angles of the product, however, I was wondering if you can have this beautiful saree modelled on someone, this will help the buyers visualise as to how the product looks when it’s worn.

You can also consider taking one picture against a white background since that will help buyers focus only on the product. I would also consider adding a packaging shot, since this makes for a perfect gift.

Here is an article from the seller handbook that you can refer to, to get more ideas on the kind of pictures that you can take for your product - https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Adding to the photos, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

Your video may be 5–15 seconds long and will not contain any audio once uploaded to your listing. Ideal resolution for your video is at least 1080px. You can only add one video per listing)

I see that you have tried to use as many descriptive words in the title as possible. We suggest that you use 3-4 relevant phrases in your title that are separated by a comma.

Perhaps, the title for this listings can be “Blue Pure Hand Weaved Gachi Tussar Silk Saree, Indian Traditional Bengal Tussar Saree, Silk saree with blouse for women”

I would recommend you add information to “About your shop” information since it really helps in understanding your making process, and it reminds the shopper that real humans are on the other side of this listing making it!

Rest, your listing looks good to me, best of luck!

I hope this helps!

Thank you once again for participating!

Hi Rina! I’m Shweta, I work on the Community here at Etsy in India!

I really liked your wide variety of quirky prints and stickers, so aesthetically pleasing!

The first thing which comes to my mind when I see your product is the listing title. A good rule of thumb when creating your titles is crafting short phrases that buyers may use in the search bar. We also recommend separating the terms with commas and limiting yourself to 3-4 phrases. Consider adding something like “Digital stay healthy signs, Printable coffee shop stickers, Downloadable cafe decor paper stickers”.

Other relevant terms can go in listing tags like “instant downloads, digital prints, wall sticker print, round stickers, digital cafe wall art, stay healthy print, entry door poster, office wall prints, etc.”. Make sure you utilize all the 13 tags which are specific to your product and are descriptive.Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer.

Here are a few suggestions for photography, your photos have adequate lighting which is good! However, 10 photo slots are available per listing and adding scale shots showing off the size or lifestyle shots showing the stickers in use in multiple room settings can help buyers better picture how the stickers might work into their lives.

Finally, great job on adding the About section to your shop as this can build a brand experience for your customers.

Hope these tweaks help you ascend pinnacles of success!

Best,

Shweta

Please also have a look at my shop front and let me know your views.

Hi Vrinda! Hope you are doing well! Thank you so much for submitting your listing. I really love the floral print on these beautiful wooden coasters.

I have been looking at your shop and found that I can suggest a few things to make it even stronger for success! I noticed you’re using dashes to separate phrases in your listings. Buyer research shows that using commas instead of dashes helps titles appear more clean and readable.

Also, I will suggest you to add only 3-4 relevant phrases in your listings title. For example, “Hand Painted Wooden coasters, Floral Print coaster set” would be enough! All the other keywords can actually go in your tags!

Coming to the other section of keywords - tags. Tags happen to be important on Etsy because they act as keywords. While it’s great how you have tried to use all 13 tags, it’ll be even better if you use multi word or multi phrase tags since they tend to work better on Etsy rather than single word tags.

Your tags can include very specific colours, style, purpose and the material of the product. For example you can use tags like: handcrafted coaster, colorful coaster, floral coasters, handmade drinkware, kitchen utility etc.

To know more about tags, check out this Seller Handbook article: https://www.etsy.com/uk/seller-handbook/article/keywords-101-everything-you-need-to-know/38277428151...

Lastly, I would like to talk about listing photos! I see that you’ve displayed the coaster really well. However, I would recommend you add a photo where the coasters are displayed in a real life setting, we find that buyers respond better to a lifestyle shot as they can imagine the product in their lives, which builds confidence in their decision to purchase.

Additionally, I recommend including process photos so that buyers can get a sense of how your items are made. This is a great way to build a connection with your buyers and set your shop apart from the competition.

One last tip I would like to give you is add more products to your shop! The more products you have, it gives buyers a sense of credibility and more options to choose from!

Thanks again for participating! I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Shweta

Thank you for the detailed and insightful critique Shweta! I'm going to make the changes you've suggested to all my listings.

You would've noticed that I'm charging shipping costs for all other locations apart from India. Do you think absorbing the shipping cost in the product price to offer free shipping, and in turn driving the retail price up, is a better way to go?

Also I have a feeling that since my shop is open since 2018 and has 0 sales, might be discouraging to potential customers (I posted my first listing this month in 2020. Shop had been lying dormant for a long time)

Is there a way I can improve this situation? Some damage control?

We just started on Etsy. Would like to get your inputs on this.

Hi Sovit,

Hope you are doing well! I absolutely love the unique yet beautiful earrings in your listing!

After a careful review of your listing, my first advice for you will be to consider creating a different listing for every different design you have. Each design looks very unique and creating different listings will allow each of them to stand out. We usually suggest that you create a variation only when you have different colour or sizing options available.

A few more suggestions to build a strong listing would be:

Photos: Since this is a piece of jewellery, you can also take a picture where it's modelled on someone so that the buyers can see how it looks when it’s worn. You can also consider adding a packaging shot since that helps buyers visualise as to how the product will look when it reaches them.

A photo in the natural light can be a good idea as well, since it will let your buyers see how the product looks in its natural condition.

Here is a link you can refer to for some more ideas on the kind of photographs that you can take:

https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Additionally, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

Title: I noticed that you have around 6-7 phrases in your title, we usually suggest that you add only 3-4 relevant phrases in your title that are separated by a comma. A comma helps titles appear more clean and readable. I was wondering if you could trim your title to - “Real Seashell Earrings, Natural Sea Shell jewellery , Bohemian Beach Style earrings, Handmade Drop Earrings

Tags: Lastly, try and use all 13 tags. You have used 3 right now, it's important to use all 13 tags on Etsy, because tags act as keywords. Remember, your tags can include 20 characters and you can include the color, style, purpose and the material of the product in your tags. For instance, you can consider using tags like "womens jewellery, statement earrings, shell earrings, gift for her, anniversary gift, bridesmaid gift" etc

Lastly, I would recommend you add information to “About your shop” information since it really helps in understanding your making process, and it reminds the shopper that real humans are on the other side of this listing making it!

I hope you find this useful, thanks for participating!

Warmly,

Shweta

Hi Niraja! Hope you are doing well!

I’m Shweta and I work here in Community at Etsy, India!

I am really excited to review this embroidered tiger face mask - so cute!

Here is a list of suggestions that can help you make your listing stronger:

  • Another important aspect of your listing is the title. Make sure to add 3-4 phrases (separated using commas) to help find your product in front of the right buyers. For example: “Tiger face mask for men, Hand embroidered face covering, 2 layer cotton reusable face protection” as these seem to cover a broader area.

  • I see you have used 4 tags but you can add upto 13! So the next step would be adding specific keywords here in order to match your listing with the perfect buyer. Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer.

Tags like “washable mask, fabric face mask, cotton face covering, cloth coverings, designer face cover, mens face mask, outdoor face covering” can be considered.

Here is a link that will help you understand better: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/keywords-101-everything-you-need-to-know/382774281517

Hi my name is Pramita and i have a handmade junk journal shop on etsy. My shop is https://etsy.me/2D6XVzx

Hi Pramita, I hope you are doing great! Thank you for participating in Listing Critique!

Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews.  You can tell your buyers are very proud of their purchases.

This is such a cool find! The first thing I notice is your photos - the primary photo is really well done, and all the different angles and detail shots are so important with vintage items. If you can add a packaging shot, it can help buyers feel more confident about how this journal would reach them safely.

Additionally, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

To further improve on the visibility of your listing, let’s focus on the listing title. When crafting a title, make sure you add all the relevant information regarding your product in 3-4 phrases. For this, think how your buyers are searching for your products. Consider adding, “handcrafted mini journal, Recycled Paper Bag Journal, Boho Small Vintage Diary” might make a specific title!

It looks like you’re using tags for your listing (which is important!). When writing your tags, use multi word or multi phrase tags, since they tend to work better on Etsy rather than single word tags. For instance, you can use “handmade journal” instead of journal. If you need inspiration for coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.

I’m happy to see you are offering free shipping since I know buyers love free shipping.

Everything else looks great! Thank you for joining!

Hi Shilpa!

It’s good to see how you have used your creativity to create a mask, that happens to be a necessity in today’s times - well done!

Here are a couple of suggestions, that can help make this listing look even stronger:

I like how your first image shows how the mask looks when it's being used, however, whenever you add a listing on Etsy, try and add a minimum of 5 different angles (you can add up to 10). The more angles you give, the better your buyers can see the product

For this mask, you can consider taking a picture in the natural light, since that will help buyers see how the product looks in its natural condition. A packaging shot may help them visualise as to how or in what condition is the mask going to reach them.

You can also refer to the link below for more tips on photography:

https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Additionally, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

I noticed you have used a lot of descriptive words in your title - good job! However, we suggest that you only use 3-4 relevant phrases in your title that are separated by a comma. A comma helps titles appear more clean and readable.

Perhaps, your title can look like this “Aromatherapy Mask, Pure Cotton Face Mask, Reusable Face Covering, Biodegradable face mask

I see that you have used 8 tags, Etsy allows you to write 13 tags. It’s important to utilise all 13 tags since they act as keywords. When writing your tags, I will suggest you to use multi word or multi phrase tags, since they tend to work better on Etsy rather than single word tags. For instance, you can use “cotton face mask” instead of “mask” and you can consider using “aromatherapy mask” instead of aromatherapy

Everything else looks great to me, wishing you success!

Hello Ashok! First of all, congratulations on your 5 star reviews and ratings! Seems like your buyers are adoring your jewellery collection.

Talking about your listing, here are a few pointers that might help you for better conversion:

  • The first thing which pops up in my mind is your listing photography. Since your buyers can’t touch or pick a product before receiving, it becomes all the way important to provide a comprehensive product overview. How about adding high quality images including a close up shot, multiple angles view or having a human model display your product?

  • Adding to the photos, there is a new option of adding a listing video now - which helps shoppers gain a clear picture of your product!

  • Another recommendation would be trimming your title a bit and limiting yourself to 3-4 phrases. Furthermore, our buyer research shows using commas instead of slashes helps titles appear more clean and readable. Terns like “Purple amethyst ring, Sterling silver boho ring, Unisex oval shape ring” can be considered as these have more specific words which will help in getting your product found.

  • The keywords you add to your title and tags are an essential tool for matching your listings to the searches on Etsy. Each tag you add is a chance to match with a shopper’s search, so spread them around and add some variety (use all 13)! You can consider adding “engagement ring, propose ring, gemstone jewelry, designer rings, rings for men, amethyst ring, oval shape ring, wedding rings, party wear rings, silver rings”.
  • Another important aspect is product description - you’ve done a great job with description!

Thanks for sharing your listing. Hope these tips will help you sail you through!

Best,

Shweta
