Hi, I just joined. I don't have a food shop yet, I have a shop with sewn items currently. I'm thinking about opening a food shop as well but I have lots of questions first. I'm hoping this team will help answer those questions. I love to bake and always thought doing it for money would make it less enjoyable so my first question is how do you keep it enjoyable?

You know I will have to start some chat and advice threads. I don't sell baked good but I would love to. this is my newest shop and I have recipes in my shops not food. I LOVE TO COOK> I used to cook buffets for large parties and it all depends on the person. I don't think I would tire of it. That all depends on the person. I can tell you working reservations and customer service on the phone all day Makes me hate chatting on the phone. So you never know.

i just wonder how you ship stuff like cookies. My concern would be would my cookies breaki in shipment. You also have to bake as soon as you get the order and you have to ship it pronto or it will be stale. Do you need a food handling liscense?These are my questions?

I hope we can get more members soon and share advice!

Hi,
I just joined today.....Kim, I bake to order to insure freshness. Summer time is hard for baked goods because of the heat so I ship with ice packs. I try to pack the baked good nice and tight to avoid breakage....you'll learn as you go sort of trial and error and oh yes with that goes $$$. But you get it eventually!
