I live in Florida and can't find buttercreams anywhere. Not the icing the candy. Not that sugar crap in a cadbury easter egg. I mean the kind you get in a GOOD candystore. A candystore that passes the recipe down from generation to generation. My Moms Aunts could make GOOD BUTTERCREAM. She regrets she never asked for their recipe. I google buttercream and it had some junk recipe with butter and powdered sugar. Real buttercream is made on a stove . DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE REAL BUTTERCREAM CANDY? NOT ICING . CANDY!. I WANT A BUTTERCREAMS!
I always find the best search results on yahoo. Here's what I think you're looking for, Julia: http://m.almanac.com/recipe/buttercream-centers. I haven't tried the recipe but it sounds like what you're describing.
Oh thanks that does sound like it might be it! This the chicken coming in as my ghost! I think I will try this at Christmas. We always had some buttercreams at Christmas.
I need ideas for feeding about 40 people a quick breakfast. I'm making cinnamon rolls one day but still need something for the second day. We could buy donuts but I'd like something more substantial since it's mostly teenagers and they'll be on stage for two hours before lunch.
