Do you use Google Analytics?

I'm fascinated! I can see how many people are viewing my shop. Track the differences in views on days that I post a new product and days when I don't post anything. I can even see what sort of traffic I get on days when I post a new logo as opposed to a new card. It really gives you an idea of how people are responding to the things you're doing.

And then there's Craftcult.com. Their hearts viewer is great! I can see how many views each of my products is getting. It gives me an idea of what's popular and what's not working. Right now my Lights and Lanterns wedding invitation is doing best with 70 views and 2 favorites.

I haven't had any sales yet (it's only been a week) and I don't expect to get any for a while still. But the sheer aspect of watching the response is keeping me completely entertained. :)

What exactly is google Analytics, how difficult is it to use and what is the cost? Is it worth it?

Re: Do you use Google Analytics?

It's a free service from Goggle. It's basically a way of tracking traffic to your shop, website, blog, etc. It shows you where your viewers are coming from, both what countries and what websites. It's a great way for you to see what items are attracting attention and what is being ignored for the most part.

Etsy has a way of using it in conjunction with your store. Here's the link to their blog post about how to get it set up.
