Trunk Show?

Hi All,

Just looking for some feedback.

I have a large loft in Chicago, and Lad Named Felix has gained significant ground in the last year with art shows, my Etsy shop, private sales, and the like. I'm giving some thought to hosting a trunk show at my loft, and inviting friends and their friends to come, enjoy some wine and tapas. It's kind of my twist on the jewelry home show, as I do NOT want LNF to become a Lia Sophia business, where I beg friends to let me host parties in their homes. It doesn't fit with my branding or business concept, and plus I'm not a salesperson. LNF is all about edgy design, modern-meets-vintage style, and a healthy dose of sarcasm - I think throwing my own trunk show would allow me to really have control over the tone and style of the party, and allow me to relax and enjoy the process.

Anyone have thoughts? Experience doing this kind of thing, or even doing home shows in other peoples' homes? I'd love some solid feedback from the team if you have a moment.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Dona! I'm just in the beginning stages of putting it together, but there will be plenty of pics and stories on my blog. Maybe this will give others on the team some ideas?

Re: Trunk Show?

Luckily I have tons of space in my loft, and I work for a wine distributor, which means free wine. :)

Re: Trunk Show?

Sounds like a great idea, and like you have a great space to host your event!

I sold my jewelry through home shows for years. One suggestions, make your event sound more like a social event/party on your invites. You will get more people to attend. Don't forget to send a reminder a few days before your event

If you have any question, feel free to contact me via convo.

@ladnamedfelix - I haven't hosted an event like this -but it sounds like a great idea. Keep us up to date on how it goes; if I am Chicago then, I would love to attend!

Re: Trunk Show?

I've never done a trunk show, but think it would be interesting.

I have a new shop: chelsearainbow.etsy.com
I have always loved jewelry and I love the relationship that women have with their jewelry. It makes us feel beautiful, feminine, and powerful. It affects us in many ways, and even if a piece does not cost thousands of dollars, it is still precious to us.
