You can get lye many places, it is regulated on weight for shipping on airlines, but a good place to find all the soap products you will ever need and then some is, Snowdrift Farms

Ace Hardware, which is all around the country I believe, sells lye. When I first started making soap, every store I called with that question asked me "WHY DO YOU ASK?" duh for me, I finally figured out why lye is so hard to find, but Ace has lye at a good price too and they don't blink an eye when I walk out with 10 cans. Maybe it's cause I look like a mom and am usually toting kids, ha.
