Just to let y'all know how Extreme Halloween my wife and I are. We just planted our PUMPKIN PATCH today! We will have miniature pumpkins, lumina (white) pumpkins, and Conneticut Field (jack o' lantern) pumpkins! If only there was a way to post pictures to the thread I would share past pumpkin carving pictures.
Of course! Aside from my paracording, I woodcarve and transferred those skilled over to the orange gourds. Come Fall, everything is pumpkin. Pumpkin seeds, pumpkin pie, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin fudge, and pumpkin chilli. I know it sounds weird, but once you've had it, you will never have it any other way.
I love all above pumpkin. Dan do you grow gourds also? I went to a presentation on making things with gourds about two weeks ago and I could not believe the lovely items crafted. From jewely to lamps! It was cool.
I actually haven't tries carving other gourds yet. Might be a new challenge for this year. Depends on what my wife lets me do. Last year I took a Dremel and a router to the pumpkins. Still trying to get the goop out of the curtains.

I'm so excited..I have a pumpkin growing in my garden patch this year. I planted a pumpkin vine last year, and it made one pumpkin that unfortunately rotted because of all the rain we had. I didn't clean up the seeds it left behind in the garden because I figured they'd be no good. Looks like they were actually still good, because I have a healthy vine growing!
They're big carving pumpkins, so I'm hoping they'll grow and be OK for halloween jack-o-lanterns.
