TIP: Import your Etsy store to Facebook

With over 1 billion users, Facebook is a great potential source of traffic. Make sure that your store is available on your Facebook business page for your Facebook fans.

OrangeTwig is a free app for Etsians to import their Etsy store to their Facebook business page. All you need to get started is:
- An Etsy store
- A Facebook business page
(Note: Facebook does not allow business apps like OrangeTwig to be applied on a personal Facebook profile. See how to create a business page: http://orangetwig.com/blog/how-to-create-a-facebook-business-page?ref=s)

Setting up your OrangeTwig store is simple. Just follow these steps:
1. Go to OrangeTwig.com
2. Click on the orange ’Get Started’ button on the top right corner of the page
3. Sign in to Facebook with your personal account
4. Facebook will ask you to ‘Choose Facebook Page’
5. Select the business page of the Etsy shop you would like to install
6. You will now be asked to login with your Etsy account
7. Login to the Etsy shop you want to import
8. Click on the ‘Allow Access’ button

Congratulations, you now have a brand new store on Facebook!

This is a really cool App! It takes out the middle man and directly links your facebook and Etsy shop! What a great idea! Love it!

Dears,
while doing those 2 steps - Fb warned me that Orange Twig will be able on my behalf to:
- See your private shop data and Edit your shop, including description, policies, sections and banner

Does it mean that someone except me can see and change info in my shop?

Etsy bundles read & edit info when asking for permissions.

Though we only need to read your shop info to import it, we have to ask for edit permissions as well. There's no way to only ask for 'read' permissions.

OrangeTwig does *not* actually edit your shop in any way.

I have just clicked on "sign in with Facebook" and it comes back with:
You must have permission to add apps to at least one Facebook Page to perform the requested action.

Help!!! What now?

Cathy, are you admin for a Facebook business page? This error usually occurs when you don't have a business page.

According to FB rules, any business app like OrangeTwig can only be applied to a business page, not a personal profile.

If you do have a business page, let me know and we'll look deeper into the issue.

I too had a problem like Cathy. I am the admin and I do have 2 FB business pages. Just found out that since I only opened my newest FB business page (Nansglams) on Mon. July 7, is why I am not being found in Google search. FB says it will take several days before page will appear. Could that also be the problem with not being able to connect my Etsy shop to FB with your app?

Well doggone it, I was going along really good with Orange Twig on making a Facebook page but when I wanted to connect it with my Etsy shop well forget it for now, I am one of the chosen for the Etsy new look and the settings button is gone. I'll try again later unless someone can help me out of this problem.

Paul, do you see a 'Your account' link towards the top right of your Etsy page? If you place your mouse on that, you should get a drop-down menu with 'Settings' as an option (3rd from the top).

For the 'About' section, I think you will need to click on 'Your shop' -> info and appearances.

The rest should be similar.

I have more than one shop on etsy. face book will only let me ink one shop, i have tried to create a new email account but FB knows the difference. How can I promote 2 etsy shops? I am so new to all this. Even Pinterest recognizes I have 2 email accounts,

@Neci, though you can't have 2 Etsy shops on the same FB page, you can create multiple business pages using the same FB account (personal profile).

So you could consider creating 2 separate Fb business pages - one for each Etsy shop. Your main Fb profile will be the admin for both page.
