No kidding about leftovers eh?! Just my BF and I and we finished everything last night just ham left for scalloped tater and ham casserole I'll make in a couple days.
Well, we have some ham left....but after last night (both daughters where here and we did some leftovers) not much else. I sent some ham home with middle daughter, and we have enough to use in casserole or sandwiches.
Unfortunately, if I do an Etsy Shop Owner with a donut AND a ratty....Well, you know I'll just have to price it at 1,000.00 so it doesn't sell, because it will be MINE. The "do it" thread mascot... LOL
so good to be in my own home again! Ran across this 'house' while looking at real estate (Lee - not moving for a year or so) and thought it would make the best lounge - with a store for all our goods below.... take a look!! It appears to already be an Etsian or artist!!
Very cool loft...and unbelievable price for the square footage! My daughter and her fiance are house-hunting and everything here is SO high...amazing that they could drive literally one and a half hours south and spend half as much ...:::sigh:::
Denise - that is the amazing thing we are finding... just huge price differences.
We saw some FANTASTIC lofts and places in York PA. So we took a drive over there.... but no. The city had so many empty storefronts, and bad parts between all the good stuff! We have seen that elsewhere too... rehab of the cities started with a bang, just before the crash hit, and now sit stagnant. If you are young or a gambler, might be good buys, but not for us.
We are finding that if we want to live in any of the established places or close to Boston, DC or ocean... our big, newer rural home with acreage will translate into a much small place for same $$!! That is not exactly how we defined down-sizing!!
I hear that, Jill...the northeast coast can be very expensive, especially in nicer areas. That's why North Carolina has become "New Jersey South"...all the retirees from here go down there and buy some land and a home and live MUCH less expensively. But, our family is here, so that's not happening.
The link won't open for me and now I'm really curious about that house... I suppose if you want to move in a year or so it is time to start looking. That is one nice thing about computer friends, they don't go away just because they move!
Glad Easter went well, Denise! Do you still have a house full or are they gone? How is the foot?
Hi, Lee:) We're back down to the one daughter living here, now, and the foot is much better...still swells when I am up on it too much (like holidays) but definitely getting better, and swelling goes down more easily when it is rested. I'm back to all normal activities except treadmill, which is too prolonged according to Doc. Long process, and foot still has pretty ugly franken-scars, but time will take care of everything. I am ready to polish toenails soon, because apparently " feet look like cadaver feet without polish" (according to a post I recently read)
Like Denise said...Lots of folks from Jersey, 'beat feet' and move out of state after retiring, because it is easier to live on a fixed income.
In my county in south jersey, there are lots of deals on homes/ business but it's considered a 'depressed' county...we even have reduced sales tax :/ Many businesses in town, got grants from the state, and it made things 'look' very successful. It brought in many from other areas, but after the grant money ran out, the businesses closed.
