Hey, Denise and OC... Staten Island is closer to NJ than NY!! Goombas!!
Yeah, what a great community!
My ham remains in my fridge because hubby's niece and brother invited us over at the last minute. So I'll cook Easter Dinner next weekend for him! I miss leftovers. (sigh)
Dream, we have relatives (hubby's side) in Staten Island:)
Ok, so, I spent the better part of the day throwing out paper....files, scraps , old receipts, cards, catalogs, magazines, bags...you name it, it was saved, in any number of make-shift boxes, bags, etc, in our little office and kitchen...I am on a mission to clear out our life. I am so tired of cleaning around pack-rats!
On another note...I had to order $200 worth of tiny sew-on swarovski crystals today with which to hand bead my daughter's gown. It's going to be a long summer...LOL
You have my deepest empathy on that Denise. Suggestion - lay a white sheet on the dining room table, put the gown on that and get yourself a good chair and a good light. When you are not working on it wrap the gown in the sheet. Then if you need to move it you can simply pick up the whole thing and not worry about it dragging or bumping into anything.
Deb, great idea. Dining room is exactly where I'll be working on it, because I can extend our table to 12 feet!! But...she doesn't want anyone to see her dress, so of course this will be in daytime sessions when no one is around, and then under wraps the rest of the time.
I am allowing myself plenty of time...her gown is already in, so I can begin as soon as the crystals arrive. Kills me though...she could have ordered a very similar gown (the one you and I had talked about) with beading and crystals already ON it, but nooooooooo....she liked the lines and neckline of this one better, and was fine with it plain lace....but is now thinking she wants a bit of sparkle. Good thing mom is no stranger to hand sewing and beading...LOL
Hubby made yummy shepherd's pie with lamb leftover from weekend. And now I am sitting with feet up. Can tell I was on feet all day long. I think every joint aches.
Wine please ratties - strictly for medicinal purposes of course
Good morning:) Sitting here in the early hours, when no one else is stirring, listening to birds chirping as they start their day, sipping my first cup of coffee....THIS is my favorite time:)
Morning Denise! Woke up early for me, and decided to just get up and get at it. SOoooooo much to do. Already moved laundry since it will be well over an hour before anyone heads for shower. Hubby made a loaf of challah bread yesterday and asked if I would make French Toast with it this morning. It is his weekend so sure. But meanwhile, he is still sleeping. So I am attempting to get some work done.
