My portfolio's done!

I got my photography portfolio ready over the weekend! It involved picking a slider plugin, fighting the code, browsing old pictures, looking at other people's portfolios, editing, organizing, writing stuff up and fighting the code some more.

Thoughts? Criticism? I've never had a portfolio before so it's a bit nervewracking. I also put up a little landing page slider on http://lixhewett.com. I want to redesign my blog too but no sliders there! No more sliders for me!

Those are stunning. I want to go there, where did you take them? Are they all from the botanical gardens? The whole look of the site is classy. Love it.

Thanks, Corrine! The pics were taken in a few different places - Oxford (in and out of the Botanic Garden - most of the pics not in the Botanic Garden section were taken around the city), Brighton, London, Madrid, and my hometown of Ciudad Real in Spain. I think all the roses (including the one on the front page) are local. I don't really recommend my town for tourism but it does have some pretty flowers around!

As nice as it looks I will say only that when you put a photo up in the internet if you do not mark it in some way , people will and do steal them.

I know. It's a risk you take whether you do or don't mark them. I don't think watermarks are particularly hard to take out of a picture unless they're so big or otherwise noticeable they detract from that picture, so I choose to take the risk without watermarking and satisfy the part of me that wants to display my work the way I want it to be seen. 750 x 500 px at 72 dpi resolution isn't going to yield particularly awesome results if you do stuff with it, anyway.
