Monday Mania

Good morning!

I am up early listening to the school delay listings. We had a lot of freezing drizzle through the night and many of the schools in the area are on two hour delays.

Today's agenda is a busy one with packaging orders, making mittens and mason jar covers, planning the week's menu, and getting groceries.

Have a great day all!

Re: Monday Mania

Argh! When packaging orders this morning, I realized that I made two left mittens for a purple bamboo set that takes me forever to make because the yarn is very thin. Now I have to rush to make the right mitten so I can ship them. :(

Re: Monday Mania

Sorry for the delays Kristina!!

I am back at work today. So far I feel like I can resume normal life, but still sticking with my mostly liquad diet. I have lots of pricing and re-tagging to do when I get home tonight. My first craft show in over a month is on Saturday! I'm kinda bummed that I only have one show in December. :-/ Oh well...just have to make the best of it!

Re: Monday Mania

That sucks Kristina! I have to go to work and need to get some things packaged for shipping after work. I also want to do all my Christmas cards. If I have time I may change the avi for the holidays.

Have a great day everyone

Re: Monday Mania

Aww Kristina - that sucks, just take a deep breath and calm down before starting the mitten. I find I just get more frustrated and make more mistakes when I feel overwhelmed. congrats on all the sales.

This weekend was productive. I mailed off 10 orders this morning and have 9 open to get done this week. I can do it!

Today is work, then to the yarn store, then home to hang out with my kiddos and work on orders. I love simple and easy evenings.

Re: Monday Mania

2 left mittens sounds like an easy mistake, but sorry Kristina!

Morning gals! Today I am working at the antique shop. It is full on snowing after two inches of icy stuff, so I am not looking forward to the drive, or sitting around all day. It could be busy though because not much stops us in NH weatherwise, except for icy roads. So we shall see.

Everyone be careful out there. See you later <3

Re: Monday Mania

YAWN.

Just wondering? With the ladies who knit and crochet, why don't you have items made to ship?
Wondering why I read that you make so many items to order........? IF you have perfectly beautiful items in your volt ready to ship wouldn't that save you time?

OR is it because you don't have ample space to store items already made and ready to go?

Just curious.

Working on building a shipping box to ship the torso's. Don't want to list until I have the box down pat. The stand weighs 6#'s, the two arms weigh 7#'s and the torso weighs 10#'s at 24 inches tall......thinking a homemade corrugated box is in order.

FREEZing this morning, just flippin' freezing. Thinking that if its this cold already that spring will be early 2014, Yeah, I'm holding on to that thought.

Dusting sparkling fairy dust all over everyone's shops as I leave this morning.....happy sales.

Re: Monday Mania

Mickey - My problem is that I have already sold everything that I had made up (mitten wise) through the year and have not had time to replenish.

Re: Monday Mania

Kristina, hugs, that sounds very frustrating to me who does not knit or crochet. I can see those things just flying out of your store. It's dilemma knowing just how many to make ahead of time because overstock is no fun. I'm breathing deeply for you!

Christmas will be over soon....

Kids are home with husband, they were off on Friday, too. They built the funniest snowman last night.

Re: Monday Mania

Mickey - I have 96 items ready to ship, but of course no one wants those :-) I tend to make a lot of things during the spring/summer, just playing around with patterns and ideas. If they sell, I just relist it as a made to order. For me its easier than keeping inventory and having items that might not sell just sitting in my house collecting dust.
Its so hard for me to predict what will be a big seller. One year it was my man striped scarves, one year it was the button cowl and this year my newsboy hats. I can't call it. Not that I'm complaining !

Re: Monday Mania

Morning all!

We spent the day at my brother-in-law's place yesterday. We had a great early Christmas, but that meant that I had to work from about 10 p.m. on. I didn't hit the hay until almost 3:30. 15 orders made and packaged; 5 more to go. My husband, God bless him, agreed to get up with Lauren and see her off to school. Now he's making my favourite breakfast (eggs and bacon on toasted English muffins).

And he just called me - talk to you later! Miss you all!

Re: Monday Mania

Good morning , I got up at 6 this morning and say...heck no and we went back to bed. Two dogs and the cat that is. So we have made our second trip out side and are ready to get stuff done for the day.

I wish people who wear perfumes and such would remember it is not suppose to be but a dab so that someone close to you can smell it. To many of us we have to hold our breath or try not to gag. LOL I have a headache from everyone's yesterday.

Kristina, on the bright side.... you are half ready for that second order we just know is coming in. Take your time and send it Priority Mail. Get there the same time.

I could not and would stress way too much having to make orders when they sold. I would be bald from pulling my hair out.

So today.... I have a few orders to get ready, Must be earring week. Then I want to go to the shed drag boxes in so I can start decorating. I am hopefully off for 4 days, fingers crossed, and only time I will have to do it.

Oh...this thread is public...lol Had to edit my post

Re: Monday Mania

Kris and Lily, I think its fabulous you stay so busy then. And you're right there's no knowing what the customer's will want from one season to the next. Just seems like you'all are always workin' those little fingers to the crochet bone =0)

Crossing my fingers and saying a little prayer for Raven's four days off wish.

Corrine check your convo box.

Magpie, congrat's on the dragon sell. Cha-ching.

Waves to Jaclyn.

Have one torso boxed and ready to ship........flippin' weighs 35 pounds!!!!!
I'd go to the post office for a weigh but its cold......just want to stay in. One family called in sick, so only two cherubs today.......yeah.

Re: Monday Mania

Morning!
I painted gourds all day yesterday. They have holes for birds. I'm not sure what I want to do with them.
I've gotta deal with these trees. Turns out that because they are healthy my neighbor has no obligation to take them down. When they fall it will be considered an act of god and my insurance will have to eat the cost. If I send my neighbor a letter alerting her of the danger, then when they come down its her insurances cost. The problem is that I don't want them coming down on my house at all. If that happens the chance of harming or losing one of my pets is huge. It's not a chance I want to take. I may have to save up and pay for this myself. Ugh! $600 was the lowest quote.
I hope you all are having a great day!

Re: Monday Mania

Oh, you busy little beaver....Kristina! And wasn't it your family (MIL & FIL) who was disrespecting your efforts as a Indie creative person and seller.

@Wendi, I wish we could build a snowman, but the snow is like ice, crisp frigged ice cicles stacked on top of each other. You can actually hear your own foot steps when you walk across the snow......crunch, crunch.

Happy sales today my friends.

Re: Monday Mania

Maybe you can hire some rowdy beavers and they could help with the trees.
Is she willing to let you cut the trees down? Be sure you have that in writing before you do.

There are times I think I should buy new mailing stuff. Took me 2 hours to package 5 sets of earrings. I have to peel old labels off and that seems to take me a while. Oh well I can not fuss about people and trash if I do not recycle and reuse.

Thanks Mickey!! LOL

Off to the post office. They would miss me if I don't go every day. I told them that once, so I know it is true.

Re: Monday Mania

ok im happy now!
my insurance agent says that when the trees come down they will not behave as a bomb but rather will fall and lean against my roof. They will probably puncture and damage the roof but the rest of the house will be fine. Meaning there will be no harm to my pets and no holes where the cats can get out. The dogs should probably be kept from the fall area so that they will not get hit with branches. He also said that the neighbors trees falling in a storm will result in the neighbor having to pay, not me..not my insurance.
To be honest, I was mostly worried about the cats. Now that I know they will be okay, I am not worried about the trees.
Now I can get back into the christmas spirit.
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!
