Team Pinterest Gift Guide Update

Hi Team!

I've set up our Team Pinterest account with 22 Boards for us to get started Pinning!

Thank you all so much for all your ideas and suggestions! While the boards a more general that I would have liked for us, thanks to all your input, I think I covered everyone, giving us all multiple options for pinning. If however you're not sure what boards fit your products please post below!

HOW TO PIN TO OUR TEAM BOARDS

The good news! We will be pinning to our Team Board via auto-repins! (ah auto one our our favorite words along with quick and easy!)

HOW IT WORKS:

1. if you don't have a pinterest account already set up a business pinterest for your Etsy shop.
2. create a board call 'Products' where you will pin your Etsy products.
3. when you pin your etsy products you will use a one or of our unique team keywords for the board you would like the item repinned to:

for example: we have a board "Inspirational Gifts" and the unique keyword for this board is "#etsymnttig" the "ig" at the end is for "inspirational gifts". Your product pins w/ this hashtag will get auto-repinned to our Inspirational Gifts Board.

Below this post is the legend with the boards and their associated keyword. Maybe print it out and keep it somewhere for quick reference when pinning your items.

The bad news...well it's not that bad...just that Pinterest takes awhile to index keywords in their search...this was a surprise but I now know it takes about five days. Two of our hashtags are working now, #etsymnttsc (stationery & cards) and #etsymnttig (inspirational gifts).

If we start pinning now, before the end of the month our boards will be popping!!!

THE HARDEST PART - will be getting the hashtags right!...I highly suggest printing them out and highlighting your go to boards.

this is great. Can I ask.... I already have an account on Pinterest and have now created a CardsbyMormorJan board called Products. Is that correct? or do I need to make a new business account?

Thank you so much for all you do for our team.

Question.....I already have a "Products" board that was created for me by Pinterest when my shop was accepted into their "Buyable" pins program through Shopify, so I don't want to pin my Etsy products to that board.

I also have a board I created and have pinned to for some time...Lari's Jewelry Designs Etsy.... and would like to pin to this board with the appropriate hashtags. This should work, right?

I created a products board in my account and hashtagged with a bunch of the sections above… I guess we'll find out if I did it correctly in a few days when they hopefully show up on the group board! Thanks so much for setting this up :)

@Jan - hmm will you can easily convert your pinterest to a business one. I think you see the option in your settings. Not sure of how seriously pinterest is about personal vs business but also if you want to sell buyable pins (like via shopify) you'll need it to be a business account. re: the board name, actually it can be whatever you like.

@Lari - i think you have two ways to go - I'm thinking you could add the keywords to the end of the descriptions of some of the pins in your "Products" board so they get repinned but for sure you can work out of your other boards.

I really want to participate. I created a board Products and began to pin. But somehow I cannot open the board. I'm really not very familiar with Pinterest. I can open my other boards. Any advice?

@poshknots Hi you're added to several boards. Now you just pin items from your shop to those boards. Alternately you can add our unique hashtags to the end of the descriptions of your items, old and new pins, for the auto repins but remember that take five days to kick in.
