ROUNDTEAM | TEAM RETWEETING

Team it very important that we get our RoundTeam Retweeting in hand.

I know there is confusion. I hope to make things clearer.

We are retweeting each other via roundteam using twitter lists that I am maintaining on the Team Twitter. Right now we have two lists: RT & RT2.

Twitting via lists is giving a great control over who we auto retweet. However, the Lists are not as free form as our old system and retweeting from them is very subjective to what we do in our roundteam settings and our we use #etsymntt.

Using Lists is going to require greater organization and uniformity on our part.



1. We have to follow HASHTAG GUIDELINES: (read more here: http://bit.ly/TEo10n)

............a...#etsymntt tweets but be spaced 25 mins apart and
............b...no more than 2 in an hour (this only refers to your tweets using #etsymntt, not other tweets and not retweets..just your tweet using the hashtag)


2. It's very important that our ROUNDTEAM is set up CORRECTLY.

and this is the hard part...there are 3 default settings that are screwing us up. They must be removed but this is an easy step to by pass and not do. Those three default settings will drag our retweet numbers down.

I don't think it it possible to merge them. The list set up seem to be too unpredictable, too volatile and at 200 names I think it is subject to all sorts of congestion and traffic jams!

HOWEVER, I am working on something that will also us to organize in smaller, more target "Retweet Circle". I will be making an official announcement shortly once everything is in place.

Hi Clarissa, I renewed etsy-fu and I checked my roundteam and it wasn't paused. I'm still not sure what list I would be tweeting from. Also I checked just now and Roundteam (under reports) still says I'm not retweeting. Suggestions?

Hi Clarissa, I just set up my standalone site (still lots of work to do,....) at some point in the future it will be my main method of online selling-if & when I switch over to it would I still be able to partake of the team # for the stand alone site only??

Hi Christina! complex question...a good question!...but complex! Given you are our Teamie and will be afforded all special consideration! But before I go into a long winded answer on what's could happen...let me ask you this?

Given that there are shops with stand alone websites who opt to also open and maintain an Etsy shop to cover more bases...might you consider doing the same?

I plan to do this same thing as I am also working on a PrayLoveYoga dot com site.

(Plus, I have a lot more planned for the Team via Etsy Social that could be really good for your business on and off Etsy!)

Clarissa would love to see what you have planned for Etsy Social. It definitely will be a while (a year or 2) before I even can think about completely leaving....I'm doing a very high-end capsule collection for the stand alone to test the luxury markets & then work from there. So in the mean time I'll be floating the 2 shops/sites.
I absolutely adore the fantastic traffic that this team generates-far above any other & would like to channel some of that towards my new site....however I don't want to transgress any rules as this is technically an etsy tweet team :-)

Hi Jackie! I took a look and so far all I could see is that in some of your tweets there's not space in between your hashtags. When that happens they become indistinguishable.

Also, with the tag not working in these tweets to the system i looks like you are using the tag less. I know that the more you use it over time the higher the retweet numbers....the opposite may be true as well.

So with that fix to the spacing of your hashtags let's see if your numbers start going back up. If not I will take another closer look.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong...my tweets are only getting up to 15 retweets but can see other peoples getting 50 or more?

Just came in here to see if something was going on. I am tweeting and retweeting but I think something is not right. I just did a manual tweet and the retweets were out of this world. When I leave it up to roundteam I am lucky if I get 5 to 10 retweets. I have checked my settings over and over and unless something changed, everything looks accurate.

Hi Melissa, I think you mean when you leave it up to etsy-fu to tweet for you instead of manually tweeting yourself. Roundteam does the retweeting in both cases. the problem with etsy-fu has to do with timing and volume...the second half of the hour being better than the first which tends to be very busy.

Roundteam can only distribute but so many retweets accross our group within the hour so if they are presented with too high of volume some tweets won't get retweeted.

Currently Etsy-fu places all of their free trials into the first quarter of the hour I believe...making :01-:12 the worst time slot with the next 15 mins not much better.

For those reasons, manual retweets are best during the second half of the hour.

I just looked for your recent #etsymntt tweets and only saw two one 6 hours ago and one 12 hours ago.

You'll need to post more regularly. I suggest scheduling 1 tweet an hour during the second half of the hour. The number of retweets seems to get better with time and consistency.

I don't tweet every hour, is it pertinent to get re-tweeted? Lately my tweets are not getting re-tweeted by #etsymntt.
