I am not sure about Buffer as stated above, I've used it for quite awhile now, it allows as many tweets as you want in a 24 hour period but only allows you to schedule 10 at a time and you cannot duplicate recent tweets. ( I do not post more than one an hour due to Roundteam requirements) One advantage is that it does allow you re-buffer a prior tweet quite easily through analytics page, as long as it was recently tweeted.
To my knowledge, only that I have never seen otherwise, any sent through Buffer includes an open photo and I agree, visual aid more likely to get response and additional RTs dues to just that, ppl can see immediately what it is instead of having to open another link.
I am currently setting up TweetDeck to take over after my scheduled posts on Buffer run out this evening to see how it works. I have been using both, Buffer to post and TweetDeck to follow.
