Scheduling tweets with photos?

I'm wondering if there is a way to schedule tweets that include an open photo (as opposed to having one that you need to click "see photo").
I know that if I manually tweet and attach a photo it will show up the way I want but I haven't been able to figure out how to do this in Hootsuite with pre-scheduled posts.

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

Hi Carolyn, I know it has something to do with pic.twit.co images. ie pic.twitter.com/K5RHSEu9vt if you have that image url and you used it to schedule a tweet it would show the expanded imaged.

but how to get the pic.twitter.com image url i'm not sure.

the tweets i post from the team blog have it by way of a plugin that i use.

sorry i don't know more...a few people have asked but i can't find the answer. I think because this is still being rolled out by twitter.

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

I use Buffer to schedule posts to almost all of my social media accounts. It will let post a Tweet with a picture. I think it depends on which scheduling platform you use as to whether it shows up an open pic or a link in the timeline. I can only speak to Buffer because that's the only one I use. Hope that's helpful. If you have additional questions, please feel free to send me a message.

I also use buffer to schedule a tweet with a photo, I actually get more traffic through buffer with the picture attached then I do with hootsuite as a plain tweet.

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

I'll give Buffer a try. Thank you for the suggestion.

I did figure out that if you go to your photos on twitter and view them the pic.twitter.com url shows up above the image. You can then copy and paste the pic.twitter.com url into a scheduled tweet in Hootsuite.

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

I use TweetDeck and it allows scheduling & an attachment of 1 pic. I have developed a workaround, which allows me to attach 2 or more photos.

I'll check out Buffer, I never heard of it.

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

An update. I tried the free version of Buffer yesterday. It only allows you 4 tweets a day. It also tries to get you to agree to tweet all sorts of other people's tweets without being clear that that is what you are actually agreeing to.

Tweetdeck has it's quirks, but it is free without the limitations of the free version of Buffer. The paid version gets lots of good reviews, so it may be worth a try.

I use Hootsuite to attach photos and schedule my tweets. Works across multiple platforms, such as FB as well

I use an android app called Twitbot. The developer's current project with that app is to include just the type of photos you are looking for

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

I am not sure about Buffer as stated above, I've used it for quite awhile now, it allows as many tweets as you want in a 24 hour period but only allows you to schedule 10 at a time and you cannot duplicate recent tweets. ( I do not post more than one an hour due to Roundteam requirements) One advantage is that it does allow you re-buffer a prior tweet quite easily through analytics page, as long as it was recently tweeted.
To my knowledge, only that I have never seen otherwise, any sent through Buffer includes an open photo and I agree, visual aid more likely to get response and additional RTs dues to just that, ppl can see immediately what it is instead of having to open another link.

I am currently setting up TweetDeck to take over after my scheduled posts on Buffer run out this evening to see how it works. I have been using both, Buffer to post and TweetDeck to follow.

Re: Scheduling tweets with photos?

If you have hootsuite I have been pulling the photos off my listings....copying them to my computer and then uploading them to hootsuite. I believe it has been working but been too busy to look that close. This team is hoppin! LOL
