Get a free short evaluation of your website

I stumbled across this in the forums this morning and thought it would be useful, you can get a free evaluation of your website (it will be a 5 minute video of a real user navigating your site). http://peek.usertesting.com/, I have signed up this morning but have not received my evaluation yet.
It doesn't have to be your Etsy site and looks like you can submit more than 1 site for evaluation, here is the thread where a few people have posted their evaluations so you can get an idea of what you will receive.

wow! how interesting! I watched the video and it's interesting how she the reviewer really wanted to see a picture of the shop owner! I've read it before how "About" pages tend to one of the most visited pages on a website.

This drives it home - especially on a site like etsy. I'll do some post for us to work on our About pages. Which Etsy pushing for us to create anyway.

Another interesting thing was what she said about expecting to see a big image of the artist's work on the shop home page. Obviously she was new to etsy but she still had a valid point in that the person could have made better branding use of their shop banner.

Last, i was surprise to see the hard time she had navigating back to the home page from the profile page...the shop home button is quite small!...a big button would be good. Presumably a lot of people arrive here for the first time from search engines and are unfamiliar with the site's navigation.

It was a real eye opener wasn't it, when I read a 5 minute video I though not long, but in that time someone can really flit around your site and take in a lot of information or not, and interestingly a lot of people in the thread were saying the reviewer had not visited Etsy before , so you get a real fresh perspective.
I requested a review for my shop and blog (Saturday), the info said normally it would be a couple of hours for your review but due to high demand (due to being posted in an Etsy forum I would have thought) it may take a couple of days, I am really excited, fully ready for a lot of criticism, but that will give me more to build on, bring it on lol.

I just signed up for this on peek.usertesting.com/ It will be interesting to hear the comments. The site says that it's free and that you can have someone evaluate your site three times a month.

It was interesting what he said about not seeing payment info as I am one who always looks for the paypal logo!

I got my Peek Test back this evening. My review was positive. The only two slightly negatives things were things under Etsy's control ... where they have chosen to place their logo ... and the pop up box under my banner where it says "read more". The reviewer was expecting a drop down box ... neither of which I have any control over.

It's very strange that my blue posted link doesn't take you there when you click on it. It takes me right there to the PEEK email where you can click on the designated place to view it.

I wonder why I go right there (just now clicking on it) and you don't?

I had one done for my web site, it was very eye opening, and again alot of what was brought up is not under our control as we are at the mercy of the site developer and what tools they will let you have. We are working on fixing the items and resubmitting our site.
Definitely a handy tool to have in our box when it comes to designing our shops or web sites. I would love to have them do a review of some of the shops (MINE) that Etsy is in the process of playing with. It is giving me a sick stomach everytime I go to my shop home page and see the huge mess they have created with my product.

I saw that thread a couple of weeks ago and signed up for it. I got my peek back in a couple of days and it was very helpful. There were things about my shop that I thought were very obvious but apparently weren't for customers. Hi Gabby, from what i understand a couple of my site are part of the test too! I can't see it though. I looked at your site and it looked fine to me but hopefully the experiment will end soon!...and then we just deal with what, if anything, changes...and push on! :)
