EtsySocial Retweet Test!!

Team I am beyond excited for us to start testing our new auto-retweet app!!!

The set up for the test is very simple:

Step 1. Signed into your EtsySocial account: http://etsysocial.com
(if your account is not active, just let me know and I'll renew you)

Step 2. Set up the Auto-Retweet - follow this link: http://etsysocial.com/admin/retweet

Fill in:
1. Team's Twitter Username: etsymeetntweet
2. Team Retweet List: etsymntt
3. Team Hash Tag: #etsymntt

WHAT WE ARE TESTING FOR:
The main objective for this test is to determine if the app is behaving the way we need it to. ie is it...

1. posting a max of 10 retweets an hour to our Twitter accounts?
2. posting in a minimum of 5 min intervals?
3. only posting team # retweets from our Team Twitter List?
4. retweeting 1 team # tweet per member per hour?*
5. filtering out profanity (we don't need to test this one :D just know the developer is working on building a very long list of bad words!)

(* this rule is to protect us from having our hashtag abused...along with rule no. 2... the goal is that even if someone posted 5 #tweets in an hour only one would get retweeted.)

IMPORTANT Please Note: With this test you may or may not see an increase in your tweets being retweeted since we are using our main twitter lists of 223 members. We're testing with this list first so that the app has a large pool of retweets to pull from.

The next test we do will be with a new smaller list and then we will see ourselves being retweeted. Depending on this first test, we should be ready for the second test by the middle of the week! ...and maybe by this time next week, we will be implement Team wide and get this party started!!! (but we will talk about a new team hashtag before then).

Hi Jeanette...you can set your twitter-fu to every hour.

And team remember, with more retweeting in your tweeter feed it is good to have your own regular tweets mixing in. So inaddition to posting a tweet w/ the team hashtag also post 4 or 5 other tweets...ie your items, shout outs, thank yous, qoutes, tips etc.

10 retweets + 5-6 other tweets will create a robust flow for your twitter that will attract more followers to you!


For auto tweeting, inaddition to EtsySocial there's:

Buffer
Dynamic tweets (lets you set recurring tweets for free)
Hootesuite (sp?)

to name a few.

Thank you all for letting me know! I'm having the same issue with two accounts, manandstone & our team account Etsymeetntweet, while PrayLoveYoga and EtsySocial are both retweeting nicely.

I have alerted the developer and I'm taking a look as well to see what I can see! I will keep you posted!

Clarissa, while we're on the subject of our new app ... I just sent you an email regarding this, but here is the issue in short version:

I've tried this myself about a week ago and found it to be definitely true! When I copied and pasted a URL from my shop to tweet, the URL that Etsy assigned me for that particular product, when clicked on, shows my competitors and their prices right above my product page that the buyer is taken to. However, if I take the time, when copying and pasting the URL when composing a tweet, to insert /BonnieLouLane/ BETWEEN the ".com" and "/listing/123456789", no competitors' products show above my listing page.

Daniel of Twitter-Fu, who does my automatic tweeting , writes to say that he "has our backs" and has this "workaround" built into his system. It is an (apparently) little-known workaround that Etsy provided because people were screaming about this situation. But if many sellers don't know about this ... well, I guess Etsy simply increases its chances of a sale. (Sorry, I guess this post isn't all that short.) :)

Just thought I should bring this up ... now is the time.

Maybe it's me but I am seeing retweets and tweets with #etsymntt in tweetdeck. I will have to read through this entire thread again and make sure I am looking for the correct thing. It's early, ugh!

I seem to be retweeting EtsySocial and ManAndStone. I don't think I am being retweeted when using #etsymntt. Although I just got RTed a few times just now. Don't know if that's manual RTs or Auto RTs.

Retweets are working now - about 8-9 an hour. But my account is retweeting some people more than once an hour. Also, I checked the etsymntt Twitter list and I don't think I'm in it. Clarissa, could you please add me? Thank you!

Okay, just checked tweetdeck and it is showing I am automatically retweeting.

I am now auto retweeting and getting retweeted too.

For the most part it looks like it's working pretty good, but I do see a few strange ones in there. One is a retweet of Dottie Jane Kingston (@DottieKingston) thanking @Boondockfinds for a RT; another is a RT of a RT; and a third is a tweet from BraceletsHomme (@ozencS) that doesn't appear to have the #etsymntt hashtag. All three of those were retweeted by me between 6:45pm and 7:05pm this evening.

Hi!

I was already set up in Etsy Social and my subscription is good thru Sept. 23.

Question - I mostly use Buffer for my Tweets, but I have about 30 rotating Tweets loaded in Etsy Social. Do I need to make sure I don't Tweet our # more than once per hour, between the platforms I use? Or will the app sort that out?

I'm experiencing the same issue as Amy. I'm retweeting several tweets that do not have the #etsymntt hashtag.

TwitterFu is a paid service. I don't use it but I think the charge is about $5 a month.
