EtsyBAMSale.com. is our mini website for the sale! Please join the site and add your shop but ONLY IF you are participating in the sale...meaning you will be offering a savings via our universal discount code for the sale.

(We will finalize what that code is going to be very shortly! BAMSALE2015 or just BAM2015 please feel free to way in!)

ALSO!...I've set up EtsyBAMSale.com as a TEAM BLOG! We can all blog about our plans for the sale...for instance if you are making a special item for the sale. When you join you will have 'author' status and can create and publish blog post.

INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO ADD YOUR SHOP:

1. Register - got to: http://etsybamsale.com/wp-login.php?action=register

a. choose username,
b. add an email
c. enter invite code: BAMQELF

you will receive a link with a generated password that you can change.

2. once you are registered and logged in...you should arrive at the front page of the site:

a. click the 'Shops Directory' link

b. click 'Submit a Listing'

c. follow the steps to create your listing. DON'T WORRY about all the different categories. Just select one. You will be able to edit you listing later to be in more categories.

HOW TO EDIT YOUR LISTING & PUBLISH BLOG POSTS

After you register for the site, you will have the status of 'Author', which means you can create, edit and publish your own blog post. Please keep in mind our shared responsibility to each other; Please read and follow the guidelines for posting blogs.

1. when logged in to EtsyBAMSale.com you will see an 'admin toolbar' at the very top of the site. see example here: http://etsybamsale.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/etsy-bam-sale-toolbar.png

2. hover mouse over your username and click the link 'edit my profile'

3. EDIT Your Listing - on the left hand menu click "Directory" to edit your directory listing. Here you will be able to select more categories and add more tags. If you want to add another shop to the directory, you don't add it from this dashboard but from the frontend of the site the same way you added the first shop.

4. CREATE A POST - from the left hand menu click 'posts'. Here you will be able to create and publish post. You can keep them in draft mode until they are ready.

Once you click publish, your post will be tweet to the team's twitter and to your twitter if you choose to connect your twitter (and facebook) (see the attached image)

WHAT TO POST/SHARE:

Blog post should be conversational. Talk about what you are doing to prepare for Black Friday & Cyber Monday. ie are you creating something special that will be on sale and in limited quantity?

Talk about items that will be a great deal.

We'll have to figure this out as we go but the idea is to get the word out that we are having a sale...BAM! Sale!!!...and to drive traffic into our shops. so make sure your posts include a link back to your shop.



Team I KNOW this is a lot to take in! :) BUT don't panic, don't stress, take it step by step and ask for help when you need it!

BY THE WAY...you can add up to 4 images to your listing in the shop directory!

How do you know if your social media you connected with the jetpack thing is only available for you?

Hi Valerie! There will be some time differences but participation is open to everyone!

Re: jet pack if the connection has been set up available to everyone it will say shared.

If you see it's shared, I believe you would just need to disconnect then reconnect and look out for the option to make it share and be sure not to check it.

Hi Clarissa! We are new to Word Press and have a couple questions:

1 - Must each shop have a WordPress blog to be able to post on the team BAM blog?

2 - I signed up for a WordPress.com site and I've read that Etsy mini doesn't work with it. I read something about having a WordPress.org site instead. What kind of site is the BAM blog? .com or .org?

We already use blogger for our shop's blog and thought an easy way to promote our shop's products on WordPress would be to use EtsyMini.

@BeadsandPeace you are registered...try using the forget password button to reset your password. it may generate one for you but you can change it to whatever you want. If that doesn't work let me and I will manually reset it for you. etsybamsale.com/wp-login.php

ques. 1 - No you don't need a wordpress blog to post to the teams blog. Once you join etsybamsale.com and add you listing to the site, you have 'author' status.

In my third post above " HOW TO EDIT YOUR LISTING & PUBLISH BLOG POSTS" you find instruction on how to access the your etsybamsale dashboard in order to post blogs.

ques. 2 - the difference betweet wordpress.org and wordpress.com is this wordpress is software distributed by wordpress.org. you can use it to create site that you self host via a hosting company like bluehost.

wordpress.com is a platform maintain by wordpress where they are the host. you can have a site/blog hosted by them for free but not for commercial use...that's why mini etsy might not work there.

Our EtsyBamSale.com is self-hosted. I use bluehost.

The team's blog will be a good introduction to a self hosted wordpress site.

however, there are some other things you may want to consider aside from self-hosted site (where you pay montly or yearly to a host). You might give thought to a shopify site that can extend you into wanelo...both of which can be a an alternate source of income. I will speaking sharing more info with the team in that regard very shortly!

Thanks for the info Clarissa! We do have a Shopify site already and have been exploring all the options available to us. We've linked our Shopify products to Wanelo, but they're not our Etsy listings. I'm definitely interested in learning if we can add our Etsy listings on Shopify too. Keep us posted.

On Facebook, It show as (Shared). I have try many ways, like disconnect the "Etsy Meet N Tweet" in user & searching in Tweetdeck. Even disconnect the Twitter in Facebook. But, it does NOT change. How can I disconnect & re-connect it?

@sockprints...re: shopify -that's great and it's really easy to add your etsy item via export/import...you may just have to look out for duplication. to export from etsy...settting--options---download data---current item for sale. on Shopify 'import' is on the upper right corner in 'Products'

@Ella - the team's FB is shared so it will send all our posts there but as along as your FB page is not shared only your posts will be sent there. and thanks for weighing in on the code.

when you get the password email you can change the generated password to what you want...then you can log into the site.

sorry to say I cant participate as I have broken my arm quite badly. op tomorrow. I can just about fulfill orders with help from my hubby but wont be able to promote and get organised for BAM. thanks anyway.
