Etsy SEO education program

This thread is to give people in our team who wish to or have already signed to participate in our Etsy education for new and experienced shop owners.

This is a follow on to the last Etsy France education package. We are offering anyone in the team the opportunity for extra education regarding SEO (search engine optimisation), Tags and useful tips.

It will be run the same as last program with teams and interactive modules.
We had a fabulous response last time and the positive feedback was overwhelming.

I will of course send a personal email to all who have supplied their address if no response from you within 10 days of posting.

This will be coordinated by me in the main but literature will be supplied by Etsy .

Without offending some, setting up the team without member's email details was a mistake on our part as some members need individual help

Dates will be published shortly but this time there will be a closing date on applications so be quick.

"Search Engine Optimization is a mouthful, but don’t let the title put you off. Sure, if your members read up on the subject, it can seem very overwhelming, but we have created the Etsy School guide that details a simple series of steps that can make a huge difference to attracting free traffic!

Here an overview of the month :
- First week: Meet your partner and analyse your shop based on its statistics
- Second week : Research keywords for your shop and your listings
- Third week : Edit your listings and your shop to improve relevancy
- Fourth week : Improve your popularity by increasing the number of links to your shop.

Each participating seller will receive a workbook to go through the month, with resources and weekly exercices for each week to do with his partner - available in English, German, and French.

If you have not already done so, sign in for the book and confirm by registering yes on this thread.

I will be pairing team members up and confirming by email.

Same criteria as last school, all relevant info will be emailed so make sure I have your current address.

REMEMBER THIS THREAD IS PUBLIC< DO NOT POST PRIVATE DETAILS these posts will be deleted to protect your privacy.

Some of you have not yet supplied name or contact postal address so be sure I have that within the week.

The number of new members due to this school is climbing dramatically which is really fantastic. To those we have not yet personally welcomed I will meet each of you in the next few days. Thank you for being patient.

Cut-off for registering will be extended to the 7th May to allow a few latecomers time to digest the workbook.

Read through the online book.

Hi Team

Welcome to our Etsy SEO school for May. You will receive an email within the next day that has your partner’s shop tag

I will treat everyone as beginners to simplify so if you are experienced or brand new, this task will equally benefit.
There are no rules except to consider other’s privacy and feelings. Some will be unable to continue for various reasons, simply keep the lines of communication open.
I would suggest you check any links or read the workbook before you actually take on a task and please keep plenty of notes.

The very first lesson will find someone on Etsy so I will supply you with a shop tag to locate your partner’s shop in a separate email.
Send one another a convo (message) after putting a favourite on your partners shop. then when both of you have communicated, each post the word Yes on the teams discussion page thread SEO :
To make this interesting, this will qualify you for a point. At the end of the first round the most points accrued by a team member will have a small reward from me.

As organising this school is a mammoth task, I will bulk email information and communications as well as post notices on the SEO thread. Please confirm any email by replying to read receipts to enable me to help. In turn if you need help please feel free to ask me or post hints and suggestions on the thread.

When you work through please be mindful that your partner may be at a different level of expertise than you

There will be a point awarded for following procedures (also makes it easier for me to moderate)
I already have most people’s details for replying for help purposes but still require some names and email address. (This email will be produced on the thread so if you are reading this on the discussions page but no email this means you!)

For the first few days you may practice on your own shop before applying your new skills to each other.
Be objective, keep it simple and learn from any mistakes.
Keep a record of strengths and weaknesses but above all have fun.

I will update each morning and ask questions, again answers will accrue a point.

Interaction is the key to getting your product out there please offer feedback through our Facebook below and when contacting any Etsy members always put a favourite on their item or shop if no stock.
