Shopist List

One of my items on my ever expanding to-do list is to make my website less of an internet placeholder and redirect to Etsy but more its own stand alone entity.

For those of you who have a proper website, in your "SHOPIST" section, do you list every store who's ever carried you or do you keep it current to, for example, shops that have ordered from you within a 6 month period

Re: Shopist List

I list everywhere a customer might be able to find my product. My length of time is about a year.

Re: Shopist List

I also wondered about this one...I have had lots of wholesale orders, but some have not re-ordered from me, one of the stores is out of business but then a good chunk have re-ordered. So I am definitely confused about that too, so I just leave mine blank which is probably the wrong thing to do since potential buyers probably think, "Gosh, they are not carried in any stores." I may have to update to just ones that I have had re-orders from.

Re: Shopist List

I have a few shops carrying my products that are only open during the summer or winter depending on the tourist season in their area, so as long as they are keeping in contact with me and they reorder approximately once a year (or so) I keep them on my website. My website has a neat map app that shows all the shops. It's fun to add a new one! :)

Re: Shopist List

If a buyer doesn't re-order within what you consider a reasonable amount of time for your product, you might consider this a good reason to reach out to them. Find out if they don't want to re-order, why not. Possibly offer them a re-ordering incentive. If they still have your product in stock, you could keep them on your list. More always looks better than less I think. They might give you an idea for a new product that you don't yet carry in your line.

Carma, what is the app you use? That's a great idea when you have a number of stores to post.

Re: Shopist List

You definitely don't want any customers going to a store that is closed or that doesn't carry your line, so I would update after a reasonable time. Consider their wholesale account 'closed'.
