when to refund a missing package ?

I sold a frame on the 16th and shipped the same day, Parcel Post from NY to Florida, I didn't add tracking cause I usually only track to Cali due to extra cost and in 7 years I have never had a problem. Will never do that again.

I shipped another package to FL that same day and they got it days ago same parcel post.

The customer still hasn't received the item? It's a 58.00 sale... How long do you wait till you figure out how to fix this? I contacted the PO and they can't do a thing about it. I told her by this Tues if nothing still I will priority a new item similar to this one? Not sure how to go about this cause it's never happened. I can only assume maybe it's lost...stolen or still in transit but it's been 12 days so far ?? Anyone had this problem before?

Packages do sometimes get lost in the mail. I shipped a print from NH to NY recently and it disappeared. I offered the buyer a refund or a replacement, she chose a replacement. I shipped it to the same address and it arrived in 2 days.
With the huge amount of mail sent every day I think its a miracle that more things don't get lost.

I had a couple of things get lost in the mail when I was selling on Ebay. I've also had a few things that I was afraid had gotten lost arrive a couple of weeks after they were supposed to. That's part of why I ship everything with tracking except for my magnets, which I just send in an envelope.

blahhh it was a huge package too!!! I keep thinking she will get it as soon as I send another one... That is usually how it works and NH to NY isn't too far, how long did you wait ???

Yeah I didn't use the tracking cause I haven't had an issue and I didn't know the total weight till I get to the post office I use an old meat scale for an estimate..
Otherwise I would use the pay-pal tracking sooo dumb on my part... I mean I don't know this person but I doubt that she would be lying so I will have to suck it up...lesson learned

I had an item ping pong back and fourth between two major cities for 2 weeks before it finally arrived back at my doorstep! All I could do was sit and watch it go out to one city, come back closer to me, then back out again... over and over! It was undeliverable as addressed according to the buyers local post office so it was being returned to me. It was gone for a total of 3 weeks but I sent it back out and it arrived in 4 days by USPS First class, with delivery confirmation. This was between NY and Ohio.

One of the items that got not-quite-lost was the only one I had, so I issued a refund. Luckily, the person was honest and repaid me when it actually got there. The other was also to a thankfully honest person. I sent a replacement and when the first one finally showed up she just marked it return to sender.

I've had only one item that didn't arrive to the destination. The customer decided she wanted something else instead of a replacement so I refunded the money and am out my item. Lesson learned here also about using delivery confirmation!

ahhhh I see it does happen. Thanks everyone I wish I could have learned my lesson with a 10.00 item !!! LOL
