sharing feedback publically

Each time I get a piece of great feedback from a customer, I want to shout it from the hilltops. However, I wonder if I should get the customer's permission first. And if I get their permission, should I offer them something (say, a coupon) in exchange?

I would like to use their feedback on:
1) other similar items in my shop
2) on my facebook page
3) in my shop announcement

What do you do?

I think that it is awesome to use your customers feedback in your shop. While I don't think it is necessary to ask permission, it would be polite. The coupon part is a bit of a judgement call on your part. If you can afford to give them a coupon without interrupting your profit too much then go for it!

Re: sharing feedback publically

I have used positive feedback on my website under "Testimonials". An attorney told me I should not use their full names but can attribute their positive statement by listing it as a quote from "Marie G. from Seattle"
I also always refer people from Etsy to my feedback page.
