Making product photo background white

Hey everyone! I have been searching for a way to make my product photo backgrounds white, and I found a very cool solution. I don't have PhotoShop, and I tried playing around with the brightness and contrast on the free online editing tools without much success. I found a link to www.zenfotomatic.com in the comments of one of the online tutorials I viewed, which made my backgrounds white with one click. No know-how necessary whatsoever. They have a free trial going on to edit 10 photos for free, and after that you do have to pay. I'm planning on it, because it was super easy. Here's an example of my listing where I used it:

Just wanted to share, in case someone else was struggling with those white backgrounds!

I'm going to go give it a look. I've used fotofuze in the past and the white was just too harsh. Your white background looks very nice.
Thanks

I really think its a lot better looking to do it when you take the picture itself because otherwise they don't look quite right. I've used foto fuze in the past and stopped for just that reason

Re: Making product photo background white

My white wall didn't look white in my pictures. It looked too dark. Next time I'll try playing with the exposure settings of the camera, but if I still can't get it right, this seems like a fast and easy option.

Re: Making product photo background white

The first question I have is, is your white wall white or is if off white, eggshell? If its not white white, and few walls are that's ok. You should try play around with your in camera exposure. But also you should try to have more soft light. That's the best way, more soft light. That means trying different times of day or even trying it at night with full spectrum white daylight bulbs.

This was taken at night with 4 daylight bulbs.

Re: Making product photo background white

Thank you! I will have to try different ways. My wall is definitely off-white, but I took the picture when there was lots of natural light streaming in and it still looked too dark. I'll try your suggestions! Thanks!
