new etsy browse - who chooses the items?

I have just seen this new browse option with categories.
It looks nice actually and I hope it will bring more sales.

The question is for whom....

How do the shops get there? Is it some kind relevancy search? will they rotate? How does it work?

with relevancy search I have more or less figured things out. Now - how to get my items into these categories. Before the change they were there....

From Etsy Help:

"First, each top-level browse page has its own landing page, featuring a selection of images and links. The items featured in the images are hand-picked by Etsy Admin in an effort to best represent the theme of their section. These images, as well as the sections they represent, will rotate periodically to stay seasonally relevant and fresh. At this time, we don’t have a timeline that we can share regarding how often these will change."

What do you think "seasonally relevant and fresh" means? Particularly "seasonally".

I looked in the browse today and saw my items in the first and second page; I suspect it was because I listed them today. They are now down to the 5th and 6th pages.

well, Merry, same happens to the search, my just relisted brooch shows up on first page and two days later it's on page 8, not relevant anymore?

on a good note, I couldn't find myself in browse, but got 3 views from it, so someone did... will see with time :)

Does the 'browse' show up on shop stats under the 'traffic sources of Etsy"? In that case, nada for us. 128 view thus far today and nothing via Browse
