is there something wrong with my shop

Hi! I'm been on etsy for a few months now and I've worked super hard at building my jewelry business. I've done a few craft shows and have my return customers but I've yet to had a sale on etsy. Is there something I'm missing? What advice can someone give Thats been in my position before?

Congratulations on your shop. I find that your pictures are too dark and don't reflect the beauty of your work. I also really don't like the watermark that you have going right through your pieces. It distracts from the piece. Maybe putting the watermark below the items or lighting up the watermark. I also find that taking a picture of items in my hand can really help with letting people see the size of the items.

Hi! I didn't read Jane's response before I looked at your shop but I have the exact same critique. Gorgeous pieces but too dark and the watermark distracts from the beauty. Do you have a phone or program you can edit your photos to make them brighter or perhaps take the photos outside? Good luck!

Along with what the others have said, your tags are only one word. One word tags basically do not come up in search - go for two or three word tags that match phrases in your titles and would be what a buyer would type into the search bar.

I agree that the photo are dark but they need to have the white balance fixed.
I agree with Kristal about the watermark.


You also use the same text again and again. "Each piece is handmade and never duplicated. Once yours, only yours" etc.

You have mispellings; It's gorgeous and not "gorgoeous." Grammatical errors, etc.

Photos are dark. Use picasa or fotofuze or something to make them brighter and nicer looking. Also use all 5 spots for photos. You can put an ad wit your shop name or something , but dontnleave them emty. Work on your SEO, this is very important as well,

In addition to what has been said, I'd like to see you do something totally unique and different than the other thousands of jewelry sellers. Seek out unique materials, research and hone your skills.
For example, I think most earrings have head pins instead of eye pins on the end of beads and have the same color of metal throughout. This would make your jewelry appear more professional...unless you are purposefully going for that look. When I first started I used what I had available instead of going out to buy the correct materials but as I sold things I put that money back into my shop to improve the quality. Still working on this, finding the perfect chain is my newest mission!

Thanks for the great advice. I use my G3 phone to take the pictures with the HDR setting, I'll look for a better lighting to take the pictures more so during the day time. You all have me awesome suggestions I'm going to need a notepad to work them. I really hope it helps. Thanks everyone 😊

I would change the words Hanging Earrings to Dangle Earrings. Your listings will get a lot more views and a better chance at sales if you use words that shoppers use and they do use Dangle Earrings a lot more than the words you are using.

The best light you can use for your pictures natural sunlight and yes maybe a better camera too. As long as you have a good light source that is your main component to a great picture. All the best to you.
