Shoemaker: how to stress handmade versus factory made without being rude

Hi Everyone!
I am a fairly new Etsy store and I make truly handmade shoes. The issue is, I really make and do everything by hand, which makes a wonderful and unique product. But the term "handmade" is so broad and other shops handmake in a very different sense (using hands to put thru a machine in a small factory, or using a hand to press the button to die cut the shapes etc).
How do I differentiate what I do without coming off as rude or desparaging to how others "handmake"?
Best Wishes and keep on Etsy-ing!
:)Faye

I agree, talk about your process everywhere you can (about page, descriptions, etc.) You have some great process pictures on your 'about' page, although the first one you might want to check...I think it got cropped because all I see is ankles/legs...no shoes? Focus on your own unique style and people will see the difference. You could also have a facebook page where you could show more photos of 'in process' so people can see what goes into it! Making shoes is impressive!!

Use your about page, consider starting an instagram or tumblr account to post pictures of items in progress. Link to those accounts in your about page. You can also create a facebook page for your shop and do that same sort of thing.
if your listings have an empty picture slot consider creating a collage type image of shoes in the process of being made to put in that space.

Check out picmonkey for making the photo collage. they have preset sizes but you can also create custom sizes. it's easy to just upload and drop your images into place. No account needed for some of the features on picmonkey
