Yes!!! First smile, but need help.

Made my first sale here on Etsy. Maybe two more in the works. I was really about to throw in the towel. Went to a craft show sold some of my items and got 5 custom orders. And that at a low traffic show I'm dancing now. Gave my heart what it needed. I really lost all confidence in my things. So glad I held in. My question is what do I do with my store when I pull things for crafts shows. Most of my things can't be remade. This time I just deactivated everything before I left. I know this can't be right but I was in a hurry. I will be doing more shows. Can someone help tell me what to do? Please tell me exactly how to do it to. I am really struggling with all this computer stuff. Still learning :)

Hi Pat,
I put my shop on vacation mode. You can put a message on it to say when the store will reopen. I didn't like doing it because it reduced my views so much. I couldn't take the chance of having something sell both at the craft show and online. Had it happen before and it was not a good feeling.
I, too, have had few sales. I average one a month. I am glad the craft show went well for you. I recently had some success at a craft show too.
Hang in there,
Anne

I don't see what's wrong with deactivating - and then reactivating whatever does not sell at the show. That way you don't risk selling it on etsy when you no longer have it.

You could also put an announcement in the announcement box that you will be back on such and such day. I also experienced low views following a vacation, so I avoid that when possible.
