What to sell for holidays???

I need some help figuring out what items will sell well for the holidays. I know it may be late in the game to start planning but anything I can do to plan ahead will be helpful. I make chocolate and other edible treats (that are all made to order.) Although I don't mind making a some items beforehand to create listings, I want to focus on items that most people would buy for the holidays - as gifts or possibly for holiday parties - and what sizes would sell the best.

My cake toppers have been my most sold item but are for birthday parties so it's hard to judge from my past experience to determine holiday items. I made some gift baskets for my sister's company last year and had a lot of supplies invested that I had to plan ahead for, but it was the most profitable. It helped keep my costs down that I could plan ahead since I knew ahead of time how many she was ordering and what supplies I needed.

What do you think would sell the best and what size (i.e. 1 lb box of chocolate truffles or a 3 tiered box of assorted chocolates, etc.)? What would you buy if you were looking for a gift for someone else?

To give an idea of what all I can make, here are some other items I make locally (you can also take a look at my Facebook page for other items http://www.facebook.com/sweettoothakron): chocolate truffles, cake pops, chocolate covered pretzels (rods and twists), peanut butter and chocolate buckeyes (it's an Ohio thing), mini muffins, mini bread loaves, sugar cookies, cakes and cupcakes, fondant cake and cupcake toppers.

Thanks in advance for any advice you could give!

:) Missy
