I stopped my ads for this shop today due to the dismal results. However, I kept them going in my other shop just to see how it will go even though the progress is really bad there as well.Trying to stay positive, but it is frustrating.
Okay, sorry I confused some people. Thank you for those that explained to me. I was just referring to the ads. I am happy with the results of my shop after I began listing & selling items in Jan of '11. I was just hoping the new search ads would be even more helpful. I do not regret doing the ads I just am not sure it is worth it to continue to pay for something that is not giving me any results. Again, sorry for the confustion!
I'm getting decent enough stats for me and I made a sale off of the ads today so I'm happy. I've tweaked my key words over the last few days and saw an increase each day. I really think it's a matter of getting your keywords right and getting the right balance of keywords and the right products you have chosen to feature. I love the new ads, it's so much more streamlined. I'm not worried about the number of views I get I'm looking for the RIGHT buyers, the ones who are looking for what I'm selling because those are the ones who are going to buy.
I actually have positive results for today! I spent .64 so far, have 5 views, 5 favorites, 1 sale! I'm going to evaluate everything after I have participated a week to see if it is worth it, but so far, so good!

I'm almost sure people cant find you who want your product. your views are probubly within etsy search, am I right? most my customers are Google searches... i struggle with this too be leave me, I've learned to be very creative with my tags and tittles. also my shop tittle is a list of whats in my shop, because it's searchable. your prices are great, products are super cute! don't give up1 I see you doing well, have faith... I'd love to see more animal characters, and less busy backgrounds will probubly bring more focus to your item. Hope I've helped :-) good luck!
This may help with anyone trying to adjust their keywords. Be sure you are adjusting them in the ad or stats page, not just your listing. When you signed up you purchased keywords. those are the words it is searching for. Today I went into the "edit ad" section and removed all the extra keywords that the system generated when i selected my items, and reduced it to just a few keywords, and i have seen improvement since then.
the ads are totally a bogus way for Etsy to make money- I hoped that would not be the case but paying for impressions does not make us sales. Paying for clicks on our shops might be a different story. Relevancy still gets you on the first page and if a shopper comes back to the first page to look for your ad- it's gone! If you're there because you're relevant- it's still there. Make sense?
PPennee, I never thought about the ad disappearing when they click back, but so true! Relevancy and outside marketing is working for me so far, so I'll wait to try ads until I see more positive results.
lol, the keyword chosen by Etsy's computer guru for my tag line "hammered" is "hammer". That should really bring in the sales! "Tattoo" popped up in my keyword choices too; no idea where that one came from! Handmade became hand. Sugar skull became sugar.
See where I'm going with this? And anytime I edit the items I want to feature, I have to go in and delete the nonsense keywords all over again.
Does anyone know whether Etsy has acknowledged these problems yet?
I had my fingers crossed that there would be change as the days passed but no.... I'm trying to hold out but just not seeing the results I was hoping for. Disappointed. :(
I'm still waiting for at least one sale :(...I got around 40 views, no sale...Keeping fingers crossed and thank you for suggesting to cut down on unnecessary words , heading off to to that :)

I wanted to see how relevancy search is working for you, noted that some of your tags are spelled incorrectly...ie chandeleir vs chandelier. It is possible that you intended to cover both bases?
