OK, here's a bit of background:
Whenever I post a new item on Etsy, I always link it to my facebook fan page. So within minutes of posting it ... I got a private message from a woman I had known as far back as elementary school ... and like so many of us ... have gotten re-acquainted via Facebook. So, she tells me (to my utter surprise) that she's been working for her brother for the past 18 years in a jewelry store that he owns!! (I had no clue.) We'd been having very casual conversations ... like if I posted photos of my family, she might comment ... and vice versa ... but that's where it ended! UNTIL a couple of days ago!! ANYWAY, she expressed how much she loved the item and that she might be interested in purchasing one for herself ... OR perhaps she would buy several for her brother's store. (My mouth was hanging open) So, I said that it sounded really interesting and that I had never done that before ... but I would consider it ... & I needed to run some numbers & I would get back to her ASAP. Mind you, she had this item in mind for Mother's Day. So we're not talkin' a lot of time here!! After I did some reading & got info from whom else but THIS WONDERFUL TEAM ... I told her that I could do it if she purchased five pieces. I think she wanted four but I 'pushed' it to five and gave her my price. She would have liked it for a little less (of course) but then she agreed on my initial request. Honestly, I don't know if this would have happened had we not known one another. Even though we're not close friends, there is a trust issue. OH, btw she lives in another state. So I did some checking & learned that I wouldn't have to charge her tax...as long as she had a resale number, which of course she has...just so that I'll have that in my records. And that's THAT! She said that if they sold well ... we could definitely do more business in the future!!
