I received a request for a wholesale order due Feb. 1.
I haven't heard back from the buyer since August 10. The conversation went on for a few days and we worked out the details. In her final note she asked for a quote, I replied with the quote we both agreed on and she never answered back with confirmation.
I never did this before. Should I have sent an invoice before she actually confirmed in the conversation?
What about a EIN? Do I ask for that? Is there an option to claim the "loss" in taxes? Do I report wholesale sales in taxes?
I would appreciate a good article written with us small scale artisans in mind. All of my searches turn up info that isn't helping. I'd like to find something that describes the process, beginning with the order to the end when I ship.
I'm planning to just have the items ready in case she does follow through. I sent messages via Etsy convos with no response. I have her website address and am sending a message via her biz email hoping that this order will go through.
Any advice would be appreciated so much!
