Changing Theme of Shop

Is it possible to change the theme of your shop--ie-- woodworking to glass wedding décor for example? I want to continue with existing sales, however, I do not want to have to start over and create a new shop. We have had great reviews and a constant number of views/sales within the last few months. It's just become too demanding and labor intensive to continue working with wood in addition to our other jobs.

I want to know if anyone else has done this? Like a slow-transition, removing older items as they are sold and then replacing them with the new themed items.
I just don't want to "close" the shop and have to start from scratch again. As you all know, what you put into Etsy is what you get out of it!

Thanks so much,
grace

I think it's perfectly natural to change and evolve your shop style over time. Find some successful shops you admire who have been in business for a few years. Go look at the very first thing they sold. Chances are very good that it's different than what they're selling now.

Thank you! It's a scary step-- but something I feel necessary. I absolutely LOVE my Etsy shop.

Re: Changing Theme of Shop

I agree with Michelle that a lot of us just kind of go with the flow of what sells or doesn't and expanding our offerings. I think that since you have had good success with your woodworking, you might consider keeping a wood section, but raise the prices on those items that are time consuming rather than clearancing them out. You will sell less of them, but some will pay the higher prices and make it worth your trouble. I especially see this combo idea as successful since you are a husband and wife team.
Blessings to you as you change your shop focus.
