Which should be first...

So that's it...

Im giving in....
Going back to the original "etsy friendly" style of photography.

There were too many negative comments about not being able to see the true color of my item and the photos not fitting into too many treasuries...and I also noticed a huge drop in views/favorites.

So...my question to you is...

Which photo do you think I should use as the FIRST photo, to show as the thumbnail.

Re: Which should be first...

For the bulb planter, I think the third picture would look best...that's just my 2 cents worth :)

Re: Which should be first...

I like the first pictures you currently have for the planter and the angel. I prefer the second pictures in both listings for the bird and the bowl.

Re: Which should be first...

For the turquoise bird, I really love the last picture!

For the angel, I think the 2nd picture would look good.

And for the bowl, I think the first picture looks cool!

Hope this helps :)

Re: Which should be first...

I'm getting so bored of the "Etsy" style. It makes you look like everybody else here, which isn't the greatest thing when there are so many sellers here. Honestly, I'll remember your shop for your specific style of photography. The changed photos just look like any other Etsy listing - which might be what you're looking for. But if you're looking to brand your shop and create a brand for yourself, I don't think "etsy-fying" your photos is the way to go.

Do you think the average customer come from Etsy treasuries? Neither on my shops rely on that sort of thing. I was featured on the front page and didn't get sales from it. Those things don't really matter. If you want to stand out and be seen and remembered, I don't know that the photos you've changed will do that. Just my two cents.

I did like your photos before, but was there any way to brighten/lighten them up just a touch?

I love the photos you had. They had a lot more feeling to them. I would go with what you love more.

Re: Which should be first...

Just a few thoughts:

Angel - really like pic #3 - I think is truly shows the product well
.
Bird - actually love pic #5 - it shows how it fits w/ other items, really gives a "feeling" for the piece - can this picture be a tad lighter?

Long planter - love #2 - love the look and the picture angle.

Blue bowl - #1 (pic #4 looks lop-sided & pic #3 - the flowers seem to "overshadow" the bowl - maybe think about redoing these).

Having said all that . . . photos play a significant part in "selling" the product, but you've gotta love how your shop looks and how the products in your shop are portrayed.
