What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

I love Adele...who doesn't but I usually listen to public radio rather than music. Not sure why.

It changes, but at the moment Groove Armada and Alt-J with a bit of the stones and ACDC when my energy is low!

Hi! Well, I must confess that I don´t listen to music, not exactly. I love to listen to tv, yes, really, no matter channel or show, just its sound. But, don´t ask me what are they saying, I have no idea, I just listen. :)

Classical. For the complexity and beauty. My son is a member of a youth orchestra and my crochet goes with me to his rehearsals . Love to sit and soak up what these kids are able to do. These days it's selections from the Nutcracker ballet. Beautiful, even with errors.

I either listen to Pandora Radio (a station based on a favorite artist - I've been stuck on my Noah Gunderson station for about a year now!), or a lot of times I'll listen to an audio book. I love to read, but I don't have the luxury of sitting down with a book because I have orders to make, so this is a great way to be productive and enjoy a good story. Right now I'm finishing up Z for Zachariah - I have a soft spot for stories about the end of the world as we know it!

I listen to Pandora. I love all types of music and with Pandora, I am able to shuffle all the music that I like to listen to.

Pandora station called cafe del mar. Heard it at the bead store. Or I have Netflix going and binge play shows. Right now I'm stuck in the Dick Van Dyke Show. 😜

I pretty much always have music playing in the shop/forge. Alot of acoustic folk/ Americana stuff such as Avett Brothers, Doc Watson, Old Crow Medicine Show, Shovels and Rope, Shakey Graves, etc. I also sprinkle in some newer alternative artists, mostly The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, Incubus and the like. Also a big fan old blues men, Junior Kimbrough, Muddy Waters, Tom Feldmann, Robert Johnson. In summary I'm an eclectic mess, haha.

I listen to all types of Greek music on the radio. Tunes that sound a little 'clippity clop', you know the ones that are typical Greek style are the ones that really inspire me! LOL
