What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

How did this go from what music you listen to to post some of your stuff? I listen to music when I'm doing computer work and I have a series of playlists on Amazon music I rotate through and it hits all genre of music.
I knit and crochet in front of the t and v and that's usually Netflix, Hulu< YouTube and Vudu..

My husband, Bobb, and I work from our home. We feel so grateful for the freedom to listen to music all day because it makes us happy.
Honestly, we usually listen to NPR, a private radio station out of Foreham University of NYC.

Lately I've been playing lots of Alt-J, Glass Animals, and Marion Hill while I create. Just really groovy, kinda chill tunes help me work. :)

I actually stream shows like Project Runway or Master Chef; something I don't have to pay too much attention to, but that have people being creative in the background. Not enough shows like that! If anyone can point me to something like that (preferably a reality crafting competition), I'd appreciate it!

I find classical music the best to make jewellery to. I love Schubert for working. I love all sorts of genres but I feel that classical actually helps me focus on what I'm doing. But mainly I listen to podcasts rather than music but I'm not sure they're good for my focus as I'm trying to listen to them while focusing on my work and someone once told me that there's no such thing as multitasking, it's just doing two things poorly!!

I love to do fantasy art so I usually end up listening to the soundtrack of The Never Ending Story...any 80's kids out there? Either that or anything by Yanni, and soundtracks of LOTR and the Labyrinth. If I am focused on horses I like to listen to Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron soundtrack.

Making my products includes me out in the wilderness enjoying nature. When I am shooting photos, I do not listen to music... only the sound of nature.

This past week I spent my time in Alaska, shooting pictures of grizzly bears catching salmon in the rivers.

Great question! What I listen to really depends on my mood. Most of the time I love my Ray Charles station on Pandora. It really keeps me groovin' thru the day and reminds me of working with my Dad in his wood shop. He always had the oldies station on.
Other times it's ambient chill out... That music can rally put me in a flow when I'm at my sewing machine.

I usually listen to my Ray Charles Pandora station. It reminds me of playing/working with my Dad in his wood shop and brings a smile to my face.
