What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

I listened to coldplay before and now I listen to Christie Marie Sheldon meditations. Love her. Normally boosts my sales while listening;))

I prefer complete silence when I am creating as any distraction can lead to a very expensive mistake. Even 1 tiny drop extra in my perfume creations can change or negatively affect the overall smell of the perfume.

So quite often I end up talking to myself, counting out loud or simply commenting on the process to ensure I am fully focused.

And I know it may seem strange but it really works for me :-). So no music for me, I am afraid.

It just depends on my mood. Most of the time it is contemporary Christian. It does me good to get my praise on while I'm working.

I've been listening to a lot of music in Spanish. Buscabulla is an amazing up and coming electro-indie band chock full of positive vibes.
Nicolas Jaar's 'No' is amazing and Jorge Drexler's 'Bolivia' is perfect for dancing!

Other bands: No Vacation, Banes World, Sugar Candy Mountain and of course, Teebs - always Teebs <3

This is the most tough question for us as we are two people with a very different taste of music. So it's always a war of music in our studio in the end one has to surrender. But usually we listen to Pop music and some times punjabi and hindi music also comes in.
