What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

I love music, I try to learn some English songs by Avril Lavigne recently. Is there anybody know her? I'd like to learn more English singers~ I enjoy English songs very much!

Lingle Zhang, if you like Avril, you probably would enjoy Paramore and Pink, maybe you have heard of them?

I enjoy all kinds of music, too. I like to listen to BuddhaBar on pandora a lot. Keeps me grooving, but not too distracting. ;-)

Pink floyd, Guns n roses, coldplay etc....i am a music freak and have a diverse choice.
When I create dresses i listen to bob marley mostly. It gives me high to create even better every time.

I've found that I can't do music, I need to hear and see something when I create. I choose the Christian Channels, I like hearing the Word.

i don't listen to much music, but sometimes put on a good video on youtube, or a movie. (my tv is hooked up to my pc so i get a bigger screen).

Rather a constant problem! Classical makes me concentrate but everything can get a bit too 'cinematic', like your observing yourself, weird. Classic rock sometimes works but I've also just overheard too much and end up constantly changing tracks. Reggae does work, but also results in no work, at all. Rock metal is very productive but I tend to break out the dremel and start tearing things and making angry creations. Eno is pretty close, but a bit slow.

Overall I think for me, I prefer minimal techno, Ritchie Hawtin style, not too in your face and a constant evolving rhythm that works with sewing and careful thought.

I listen to no radio. I find it distracts me b/c I start singing and stop creating. I actually "talk to myself" a bit asking me questions. I also keep lots of eye candy around for ideas.
