What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

Currently listening to tUnE-yArDs! Also the wonderful Lamb and Bjork. And am learning Arabic on a CD when doing something that doesn't require too much concentration, like spinning yarn :)

All sorts of music! But I love to put all our soundtracks (Thor, Captain America, How to Train Your Dragon, The Adventures of Tintin, etc.) on shuffle and listen to them. It keeps it interesting as you never know what's going to pop up next. Helps break the monotony! :)

I usually do not listen to music, I prefer listening to self-help books such as the 7 habits of highly successful people etc. while I craft. But when I do listen to music I choose instrumental music such as piano or violin. I also love just listening to water stream or ocean wave sound tracks.

I don't always listen to music, but like to. I work late at night when all the kids are in bed so I don't mind the quiet environment, but when I put on the headphones I like to listen to what ever I'm in the mood for. I like groups such as Cocteau Twins (my favorite), The Cure, Dead Can Dance, Depeche Mode, to The Eagle, The Doors, Johnny Cash, Almond Brothers, to Dave Mathews Band, to Juanes, Julieta Venegas, Gypsy Kings, Soldedad, to ATB, Lasgo, to Los Cafres, Bob Marley, and the list goes on.

depends... if I need to concentrate I prefer classical music, but if no, I love indie folk like Mindy Gledhill, or, oldies like George Michael, etc. and sometimes lounge music

I definitely listen to music while I design and I find what Im listening to has an effect on my productivity and sometimes the style I end up designing in. At the moment I find myself listening to a lot of Iggy Azalea and Lana Del Rey :)

I love listening to different music ... but mostly country. Music in the background makes even the biggest of mistakes okay, but mostly I find myself more concentrated because of the beat/rhythm. Slow and easy works for the more complicated, and a quick step makes the most tedious go a little faster! It's all in the rhythm in my world!

I like to listen to soft 70's music. That's the era I was a teenager and I have always enjoyed that type of music. I sometimes like to listen to old gospel and classical, like Beethoven.

I make jewels and other stuff and music is my love. I hear classical and soul music sometimes opera and calming or relaxing music.
I like poetry too and I hear songs with poetry anything which inspire me

I'm into mood music-Pat Metheny Group, Alex Cortiz, Praful, The Rippingtons, etc. I have a vast CD collection of jazz fusion, 70's music, ambient beat, etc. Spyro Gyra is always a fav.

My shop focuses mainly on thrifted items and vintage finds. That being said, looking for the items in my store never gets boring. I love searching high and low for the perfect pieces. However, I will say when posting, things start to get repetitive. I try to play anything that will keep me awake when doing the behind the scenes work for my shop.

My advice to anyone that feels the same way I do is to pop on a fun Pandora or Spotify playlist! It lightens the mood and gets me motivate to keep posting!
