What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

I prefer radio too, like some posters above. BBC4 has great educational programs, so it feels like multitasking. Two birds with one stone. ))

Pretty much any music without lyrics, beautiful but not too distracting, film scores are usually best!

I tend to listen to YouTube, an audio book (Currently working on reading the Bible in 30 days), or whatever music fits my art (bollywood when working on henna, if painting a travel city scape I'll listen to african or Brazilian). It's very eclectic....

My shop is for vintage goods. So i usually listen to some upbeat Indian movies Bollywood music when I'm taking pictures for my etsy shop or listing items or working on making my shop better. :)

I found a new station on Pandora- Beachbar Lounge. We heard it at a quite Italian restaurant and asked about the music. More on the mellow side but when I am designing I just need background music and Starbucks! Otherwise I would start wiggling around and stones would go everywhere!

I love listening to music but depends on my mood.....But most often I love to hear country songs and slow rock.....But when I am crafting, I listen to my favorite country songs....But when I am writing my patterns, I don't play or listen to music or tv at all because I want to concentrate more on what I am writing....

If you download Spotify they have a tonne of 'Mood' playlists :). I can always find a playlist to suit whatever occasion I need, whether its for a party or for when I paint my teacups :).

Saying that, this covers playlist is amazing and I love listening to it when I am focusing on my art.

Usually Nightwish, because I just love both their music and lyrics ;) But also Corvus corax when I'm in the mood for something medieval-like, or Two Steps from Hell when in the mood for epic movie scores, or classical - mostly Grieg and Beethoven.
And just generally a lot of symphonic metal :)

I have an eclectic taste in music so will listen to a variety of stuff when I create. Mostly it's music that keeps me motivated..lately I've been listening to Custard, Nine Inch Nails, Bjork and Triple J compilations - Like a Version :)

I love listening to the old classics from Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and music from the 30's and 40's. I find it so relaxing. I also enjoy listening to audio books when I work.

There has been some really high creation moments thanks to the right music in the right moment.

I actually watch a lot of disney movies when I'm making cards, my husband thinks I'm crazy but I can have those playing and I don't really need to watch it to know whats going on. Or I listen to a lot of Blake Shelton music.
