There isn't a lot of handspun yarn. There's lots of folks who handpaint roving to be spun into yarn, and then there are the ones who buy prespun yarn and hand dye that, and there's quite a bit of handspun "Art" yarn, but handspun yarn for knitting, crocheting, etc. there isn't a lot of is who do that sort of thing.
It takes a lot of time, patience and practice and in the end, we're selling our yarn for pennies a yard. So while I don't have a lot of competition, I can't sell any cheaper, either when mass-produced yarn is so very cheap in the stores.
But I find spinning to be very soothing and relaxing and doesn't aggravate my carpal tunnel like knitting or crocheting do. And I do have a growing pile of yarn that needs something done with it... :D
