What is your daily average???

I was just curious....
At the end of the day, what percentage of favorites to views do you have?? For example: I find my favorites are about 10 percent of my views(120 views, 12 favorites)
I am wondering if this ratio is typical or not. Also, if I should be averaging higher, what are some tips you have that we could all benefit from?
Thank you in advance....

Re: What is your daily average???

My favorite to view percentage is about 35% (200 views 60 favorites a day). But I am on a few treasury teams and create quite a few treasuries so I think a lot of the favorites come from that.

What really matters is if our views are turning into sales so far I only have 3 of those.

Re: What is your daily average???

Pure Nature, you joined Etsy about the same time I did and I have the same story, no sales. There are alot of posts here about the same thing, that sales are down and it takes time to get to selling in general. I am doing the same thing you are, treasuries, listing. Just building the shop in general...wish you success...

Re: What is your daily average???

Mine are about the 10 per cent average and for a relative new shop I guess this is about right. I have been a buyer on etsy for quite a while and I found that a lot of items that I added as a favourite were not items that I actually purchased. Most of the items that I have purchased I just purchased as soon as I found them. I have had one sale in my shop and that was the same - the purchased just saw it and made the purchase. The same customer has asked me to make some custom bridesmaid pieces for her wedding as well. I do expect however, that some favourites will become purchases as I see many intending brides have put items on favouries (both from my shop and others as well). I guess we never know when a buyer will snap up an item from our shop.

This is all very interesting though and I do love the fact that we learn so much from these discussions - even if they don't make instant sales.

Re: What is your daily average???

My favorites are also about 10% of my views... and my highest view days are usually either Monday or Tuesday and usually fairly low on the weekend.

Re: What is your daily average???

Only once out of 95 sales has one of the items favorited been bought. So, being on someone's favorite list means pretty much nothing to me at this point. Maybe that will change. I had hoped, early on, that all those favs would turn into sales and maybe someday they will . ..

I am doing a lot more blogging now, so maybe that will help.

Re: What is your daily average???

I get 0-1 favourites a day and 25-70 views a day. Make of that what you will.

Re: What is your daily average???

I wish I had a consistent "average". Everything about my stats very wildly every day. I've only topped 100 views only once...and had a good run where I'd say my average views were around 60. But some days I have high views and no hearts and others I have very low views but a majority of them are hearts. Sometimes being in and making treasuries seems to help, other times not at all.

today...I have 2 views so far and the 2nd one just came in the past 30 minutes. So today is a particularly "bad" day!!

I used to get upset and obsessed about my views. I don't anymore. Views are fun, hearts are more fun....but in the end sales are the best! I take a heart as a compliment that someone likes my work and I appreciate it! But my paintings are not cheap - I don't expect anyone to buy them on impulse just from seeing it in their activity feed. Lately, I'm more obsessed with the stats for my "searches". I like to know that people are actually starting to find me on their own and from places outside of etsy. And they are starting to climb slowly. That's pretty cool. I feel like in my shop, that's more likely to bring a sale.

Re: What is your daily average???

These kind of threads are depressing to me. My views and hearts always seem so low compared to everyone else. But I'd rather concentrate on number of sales. I've found very little correlation between hearts and sales. To me hearts are just bookmarks that rarely turn into sales.

Re: What is your daily average???

When I first opened my shop here on Etsy I had someone tell me that they tend to see a correlation between shop favorites and sales. (not favorite items). I do agree that all of my sales have been from people who see the item and just buy it instead of favoriting first but think about it this way. For every lets say 10 people who like your shop, 1 person buys something. 9 people heart you (for later hopefully) and 1 person just buys with out favoriting. That's a 10% sales to shop hearts ratio. So using this ratio can tell you if your sales are doing better, or less than usual.

Here's my example: I have 12 sales so far and roughly 112 people favorite my shop. That's about 10.7% so every 11 people that heart my shop I should expect a sale coming soon. I didn't believe what they said but paid close attention and sure enough I noticed a trend. It seems to be true.

Ive also been looking at my competitors to see what their shop hearts vs sales ratio is. That ratio lets me know whether I'm behind the ball or not.

Try it out and see.... I'd be interested to see if anyone else notices the same thing...

In the meantime happy selling
*Nola

Re: What is your daily average???

My favorites to views ratio is also about 10 %.

I've had the best day ever today, views-vise. I'm waiting for the 300th now, and then I can go to bed. It's usually around 50. But no sales or convos...

Re: What is your daily average???

I think it has a lot to do with what items you're selling. Some of my best sellers aren't cute or attractive. It's the sort of thing you'd buy if you need, but you wouldn't favorite it just because you like it. I get about 7% hearts to views, which doesn't sound too impressive, but I am pretty satisfied with the number of sales.

I don't really think this statistic is important, merely interesting.

Re: What is your daily average???

I think I average around 15% favorites to views, which seems pretty decent to me. I agree with what others have said - if no one is buying, the hearts don't really matter much... although it is nice to see!

Hey your not a loser ever!!! Every day is so different. Sometimes it is 10% sometimes 20%. But, what does it all mean? A sale is a sale is a sale.....
Glad people like what I have though, and I'm not ignoring that. Just a bigger thrill with a sale, well you all know. God bless you all and keep looking up.

Re: What is your daily average???

When I first opened my shop I made some sales, and I have repeat customers locally; however as far as selling I haven't done well at all. I do need more product, but each piece takes so long, and often when i finish I sell it locally before I get it online, so that has been a struggle.

I would love for my etsy shop to work for me as I'm disabled and it's hard to get out. I just keep doing the treasuries, and blogging, and all that good stuff. I did read somewhere, don't remember where, that it's like 75% of your time marketing, and 25% actually creating. SO I have been trying to spend a great deal of my day online.

I'm always open to any critiques, and helpful advise. I've started participating more in the etsy teams hoping I can learn from others.

Re: What is your daily average???

I agree heart rarely turns to sales. Most of my sales, I would say, someone sees it, likes it and buys it. Because I scan the activity feed once or twice a day, get familiar with the names that heart the stuffs. They don't come back to purchase. Then I look at what sold for the day, the names are not familiar to me. Maybe I am wrong :-)

So I pay no mind to views, hearts, favorites. I scan about twice a day. Just because I need to get to my top keywords. Ponder on what my top keywords, then wonder how to get all my stuffs on the first page of search feature LOL... Seriously I do.

All the best

Re: What is your daily average???

I guess I am just like most of you, the amount of views and hearts really do not matter because so far I have only had one sale from favorites. I do check a couple of times a day though, it's fun and I like to see what others in my circle are favoriting also. I have made a few purchaces myself from that.

Some say the higher your views the more sales but I am not so sure about that. Before the change to relevancy I had less views and more sales than I do now. Just hoping sales will be good for all of us over the holidays!

Re: What is your daily average???

Pretty much a 10% ratio whether it is daily, weekly or monthly. I agree with view amounts not mattering. I have had sales on very low view days. However, I have had sales from favorites and I love to see items getting admirers!

Re: What is your daily average???

Well for those of you with low, and when I say low I mean really low views, I am right there with ya. I only get an average of 2 to 8 views a day and maybe 1 fav a wk. :{ All I can do is keep truckin along when I'm listing and conversing with all these estians to get my name out there.
