What happened??

Between 9 am and 10 am, I got 183 views!! Since that time I have had 44 views, what the heck?? Never had this happen before, what could it be?

I have had that happen to me. I check my stats but even after checking those out, it isn't clear. That's awesome though!!!!

219 views from etsy, nothing unusual. I also don't even have one favorite, and no sales!! But it is awesome!

I was thinking the same thing, how can I have that many views with no favorites and why did it happen all pretty much within one hour?

Where from Etsy? If most are from "Your listings" or "your shop", it's probably one person looking at almost all your listings. I have had this happen before as well. Bummer when they do all that looking and don't buy anything though!!

You can favorite things without looking at them. If you do a search, when you hover your mouse over the thumbnail of the item in the search results,t here will be a little heart in the top left corner. You can click that and the item will be added to your favorites without ever actually clicking into the listing. I get hearts this way quite often.

Yup that's what it was then, one person looking at everything. It is such a bummer!! I had the exact same thing about 2 weeks ago!! :) ah well, perhaps they bookmarked a bunch to come back to later!! Ya never know!

I hope they bookmarked your shop and that they come back and buy. Perhaps they are a professional buyer or something and are looking for something in particular, but your items caught their eye.

I'm aware of that, but it usually counts them in the number of favorites for the day. They were not counted.

I had over 200 views in an hour during the middle of the night. I figured the average was 15 seconds per item. And she favored about 40 items. When I introduced myself the next morning she said she didn't have any money but liked to pick out things. Somebody once wrote a book about QVC and said a lot of lonely people fill the night watching QVC and identifying with the hosts -- they may be the nearest thing these people have to family or friends. No doubt there are these people on Etsy too.

That reminds me --- do you often have a discrepancy between the items Favorited in your stat log but not listed in your activity log?

This is why I keep my favourites private ... it's a big nono on Etsy to message people who favourite your items, and I believe also against the TOU.

You don't know why someone might be favouriting, and don't want to scare them away by being all pushy in case they were planning an event in future or maybe just marking items for future treasuries.

@Sherri -- maybe you got featured in some finds email, or a treasury, or some blog? Does it say where exactly does most of the traffic come from?

Ann, yes I do sometimes have a discrepancy. Mel, most of these views came from etsy. This morning I'm much more normal in views.
