What are your goals for August?

We have only got a few more days until we start the new month of August.

I was just sitting here with my coffee & planning my goals for the month & thought it might be a good idea if we all shared what our goals to eachother? That way it will help us to be more committed& accountable towards our success & also this is the perfect place to lend advice & support to achieve them.

We can always add to them as the month goes on, mark them off as we go along & share when we have actually achieved that goal. How does that sound?

They don't just have to be Etsy related, they can be personal goals too.

My August goals are:

- Sell at least 4 items (have only had 3 sales so far)
- Have 1400 visits to my Etsy store
- Complete 8 new designs
- List 8 new items (Boy, Birthday, Halloween, Xmas)
- Study 2 new Copic techniques
- Create a new back-drop for taking better photos
- Blog, FB, Pin, Forums & Twitter each day
- Update at least 4 listings (Desc, titles, tags, photos, etc)
- Add 1 new treasury each week
- Add 5 supply items to Crafty Base inventory each day
- Go for half hr walks along the beach (Mon / Tues / Wed)
- Have fun cooking with Zoe (my Daughter) on Wednesday nights

August Shop Goals:

+ Reach 100 designs in shop (at 62 right now)
+ Add/photograph new buttons & greeting cards
+ Post to blog four times a week
+ Reach 250 in sales (at 218 right now)
+ Work on my About page
+ Brainstorm new products for X-mas

I am counting the days until August 'cause I'm going on vacation!!
Closing the shop for the month so I can regroup.

BUT that doesn't mean I won't have "Etsy shop on the brain". I'm going to use the month of Aug to:
♥ restock my shop- it's so sad and depleted right now :(
♥ add a few new styles and lots of new fabrics
♥ add a new line of ring pillows
♥ develop a bridal clutch line
♥ relax and take some well deserved time off!

Great idea to be committed to goals! Maybe this is what it is going to take to get me to stick to them.

My August goals:

..... spend at least 45 minutes a day promoting, participating in team events
..... reach 1600 visits and at least 4 sales (top has been 3 so far)
..... add at least 8 new treasures
..... work on Christmas items
..... improve photos
..... work on tweaking tags, descriptions, titles
..... focus on listing at least one decoupage item

Well honestly I'm laying back and calling it in until August 25th: the start of the Christmas Listing Season! Everything I list after that day doesn't expire until after Christmas so I'm saving up and getting my shop in gear and going full throttle at the end of the month. No sales goals, just be organized.

I reached one today, have 50 items listed!
-- Second is to fine-tune my listings, re-do some photos so all is matching.
-- Third is to set up my blog so customers can customize their pieces with leather/stone/closures of their choice. This will involved a lot of photos!!
-- Finally, to have all my Etsy listings translated into Japanese (by my daughter) for my Japanese customers, making it as easy as possible for them to purchase via Etsy.

This is one thing I haven't started doing yet and I am several months into showing a profit every month. The last couple months have been great! How do I know what goals to make? I don't really have a business plan...

Advise please!

I'm not sure how to set financial goals for August as this will be my first. I'm not expecting to do as well as July, but as well as June would be nice. I would love to hit my 200th sale, too.
As far as actual work, I want to get as many items ready to ship as possible. I felt a bit of what it's like to be backed up with open orders this month and I can only imagine it being worse during the holidays.

My goal is to sell double what I sold in August last year. (Need to sell 28 items)
Get my new fall items listed. I want to list 6-8 items
Start on my Holidaty line
Finish redoing all my titles and tags. (Been working on each item as it expires.

Well July was great in the way of traffic to my shop but sales have been less then in May numbers wise but dollars wise close. As for August:

*Try to reach 100 items in my shop (83 now)
*Get 10 sales (4 more than last month / 1 more than May)
*Do two Etsy online labs
*Keep FB constant with at least 2 daily feeds
*Dust my house :)
*Build up supply enough to do Trade Days in McKinney in September

*Hit that 100 item mark (I've got 65 now)
*Double my sales from July (so at least 16 sales)
*Update Facebook, Twitter and Blog at least 4x per week
*Sew, sew, sew, sew
*Oh yeah and clean house lol

Since this was my first month ... still have not got myself into a routine or found my grove yet ... I guess work on that should be a goal too. I want to be able to create something at least 3 or 4 times per week. Right now I'm lucky if I get in a couple of hours two days out of the week.

Here's mine.

For 'my husband's' shop:
-create, photograph and list more items
-SEO tags and titles
-promote (although 'his' shop already gets a lot more traffic than mine!)
-1st sale (hopefully!)

For my shop:
-make and photograph some new items
-get up to 100 listings (I have 71 now)
-SEO tags and titles
-promote
-get a few sales (I'm hoping for 2-3 but we'll see)
-draft several listings before classes start up so I can keep my shop running smoothly when I'm back in school again.

And the other stuff:
-finish random projects I have started that are still laying around
-take the kids swimming a couple of times a week
-get my son, my husband and I ready for school.
-finally fold the laundry and put it away.

Organize my workspace
Make more crochet design jewelry with wire, beads, hemp, and leather
Add more items to my shop for the fall and winter seasons
Work on marketing to get more sales and steady customers

I'm really hoping to prep for the holidays (Halloween and Christmas are my biggest seasons!)

Hopefully I'll make about 200 of my costume aprons and 1000 of my crayon ammo belts... we'll see if I can pull it off!

Well, I FINALLY reached 200 listings as of today, so maybe for August my goal should be 250 (with 225 as the minimum goal!!!)
It's hard to keep the momentum when things slow down (less positive reinforcement!)
