Re: What are your goals for 2016?

This year my goals are to keep weaving the traditional hand woven textiles I love to create and sell in my Etsy shop. I hope to reach 500 sales before the end of the year. The second goal for my weaving studio is to purchase a 12 shaft loom so that I can create and weave more complex patterns in my work.

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

Ha, saw this thread, and as I read all the posts and saw so much talent, formulated my 2016 goals! Probably big goals, but that's what goals are for, right? Besides, this is my 10th year on Etsy, come March 6th!!

~ Reach 1000 sales total by the end of 2016.
~ Get up to 200 listings on my Etsy. Got close last year, but the good news is sales kept me from getting there. I need to get better about listing Not my favorite thing to do!
~ Add earrings. I LOVE earrings. I always wear earrings. I need to create and list them for my shop.
~ Be better about my Fb page, and my blog. Tsk, tsk.
~ Approach a gallery in the area I hope to relocate to when I retire.

Whew. That's a lot.

Success to all of us this year!

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

My artistic goal for 2016 is to learn how to weave kahelelani shell strands without destroying the tiny little shells. They are the size of a fairy's foot and easy to smoosh but pretty when woven into a necklace.

My financial goal is to make enough money to be self sufficient despite the fact that I am disabled. I feel I deserve better medical care than what the conventional state programs have to offer. So I'm going to have to sell a lot of sea shells and glass jewelry to make it happen.

My social goal is to learn to work with people on a team. I am usually a one woman show but I think success comes more readily when we work together. Fortunately I have already met a lot of encouraging artists on etsy who have shown me that there are good people out there.

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

Hi! I'm new to the team. I had another Etsy shop in the past that did well but decided to close it and focus on the one I am working with now, which I love.

At the end of last year, I set a goal of making $100 in sales each month. Well, that occurred in November and December and last month it was over $200 and it looks like I will probably make that again this month. I'm thinking I should raise my goal for this year to $200 a month in sales. I know this isn't a lot but as I keep adding and designing items, I believe my sales will continue to grow. Also, my items are not high-priced. My other goal is to figure out how to make more money and think it will be with more patterns and more premades. I'm sure the coloring fad will end and my sales in that area will drop. I will have to have other options to fill any voids.

It also helps that I have developed a product for which I have published a pattern for, the Rollup for Coloring, and also have them premade. They are selling well. One of my other goals is to create another, larger version of this to hold more pencils as I have had requests for those. Addtionally, this year I plan to add other Rollup patterns, which are already in process and also premades, for crochet hooks rollups and knitting needles rollups. I have two distributors now for The Rollup (original version ) and The Rollup for Coloring. So that is good. I think it's important to find other revenue streams. I also sell vintage, which I love, and have introduced a couple lines of card that haven't yet sold but I love to make. I know I need to rethink that but can't seem to help myself. :)

One of the changes I made was to start using Promotions in Etsy. It has changed a lot over the years. I encourage folks to try it for a couple weeks. Read all the fine print, then find a dollar number that works for you. I use the promotions with a maximum dollar amount of $2 a day. Rarely, do I use up the $2. I also let Etsy do my bidding for me, but that is optional. So far, by my calculations, it costs me about $1 for every $3 in revenue which is an okay return, I have found over the years. It typically covers my cost, time, and profit, etc.

The other cool thing about using the Promotions is that after a little time you can look at the analytics it provides. There it will tell you for every item you are promoting (and you can be selective), how many impressions there were, how many clicks (what you pay for) and how many $s in sales it generated. It also will tell you which words were searched for the highest (you want those in your keywords) and also which had the highest click-through rate, also very important. Another cool thing is it can tell you which product a person clicked on along side the item they actually bought. For example, I had a sale based on someone clicking on one of my premade Rollups but eventually purchased the pattern to make it, instead. I have also had a person click on one Rollup but then bought a different one. I find this fascinating.

I don't know if many people use the Promotions but it works well for me and it works way better than the Facebook ads that I had been using, and I think it's cheaper, too. So, for this year, I plan to keep using Promotions through Etsy.

Good luck. I hope this information helps and I hope we all have great sales this year with our new or improved goals.

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

Hi all!
After a few weeks' illness, I am determined to get back to crafting. My goals for the year are to double my income and work much more on social networks, mainly getting to grips with Instagram. I need to be more organised at home and set a timetable for craft-working apart from house-working or garden-working!

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

Last year was pretty good as far reaching goals went. I finished my new website (www.damianmiles.co.uk),and now have a direct link to my Etsy shop, its mobile optimised and I've got the loading speed down. I set up a emailing list through Mailchimp. I also set up a second Etsy shop (fuelyourcraft) and need to invest a little more time in that one.

My list for this year includes;
Finding out a bit more on how to use social media more effectively. Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest are a bit lost on me, so I need to learn more.

I need to learn a lot more about how Facebook works, how to optimise, get more "organic" likes etc. as things only seem to happen when I pay for it.

I'm planning to use Etsy updates and add a video.

Sort out new packaging and display (for events as well).

Invest in photographic equipment (already started with a DSLR)

Bringing my listings up to 150 as a minimum.

Make more One of a Kind pieces.

Make my ranges more coherent.

Lose weight, relax more, start playing Badminton again and enjoy life more.

That's just to start.

Good luck with your plans everybody.

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

My goals for the 2016 year with my business is to make $20,000.00 with my Etsy shop and selling at craft fairs. I love the way that I can now sell at craft fairs and my Etsy shop is my inventory and shows my sales and I have the Etsy reader for my credit cards sales. The Etsy reader was the best thing they have done for growing my shop. I also have a goal to work 15 plus shows this year, last year I only did 6 shows, with two of them being a bomm but the other 4 made up for them. And the last thing for my goals is to take better pictures and write better descriptions for my items.

I have done one of my goals and that is my pictures are looking fantastic with my new items I have taken pictures of and I have 4 of my 15 shows booked already and I am sending out my applications for 4 more this week.

This year is feel is going to be my break through year and I am totally excited!!!

Re: What are your goals for 2016?

I really just want to turn my vintage shop from a hobby into a full-time or at least a part-time business which I can run along side my part-time job.

I have been dilly-dallying around with Etsy for the last few years and have never found the time to take it seriously but I feel that this year is the year!
