Weird Idea

Okay so I had a weird idea and I just wondered if people would think it was stupid or a cute "personal touch."

I have a 2.5 year old daughter who is always wanting to "help" mommy with her "work." She wants to do things on the computer like I do, wants to crochet with me, etc. She's always asking me who the hats are for and if they're boys or girls.

Would it be stupid to create a small coloring sheet that says "Thanks for buying from my Mom" or something like that and letting her color it to feel more involved?

I know, I'm a geek and lame but it's things like this that cross my mind and make me curious.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

I think it is an awesome idea. I love to see kids be creative no matter their age. And I think that customers would find it very personal.

That would be so adorable!!! I sometimes let my 2 year old son color the outside of the envelopes before I package them and ship them...just to add that cute childs touch :)

I think printing something small, business card sized for example with "Thanks for supporting my mom's shop. love, ....." (or something similar), would be cute. Then she can "decorate" them for you & stick it in the package. Anything bigger than that and I think it might be a little much. That could just be me since I am a mom bombarded with kid's art & school papers everyday!

Personally, I think it'd be adorable. I think it's important to enjoy this "I want to help Mommy" phase as long as possible...lol.

You know, a post card sized something would be great. You can buy sheets of them to run through your printer.

Yes, & think about everything you are going to be teaching her:
gratitude
creativity
business
entrepreneurship
the list goes on & on.
I've always included my kids in everything I do and it has really paid off.
My 16 year old has already done several projects for not for profit organizations and this year works for the guidance office at his school.
My 13 year old is teaching beginning swim lessons.
Neither one are afraid to go after what they want because I've always told them their dreams are achievable but they have to work for them. So you are doing the same for your daughter even at such a young age!!!

That is a very cool idea. She would feel involved and it would be a personal touch to add to the box to your customer! That's one of th things that separates us from corporate business...when people buy from us, they know exactly who the money is going towards!

I think it's a great idea. Besides being a great experience for a growing mind, it's a way to add to your brand and make you memorable. I buy handmade dog harnesses and collars from a (non-Etsy) shop and they always send a little photo of an "oops" on the sledding trail...dogs gnawing the sled, lines wrapped around a tree, something funny. It always makes me smile. It puts them first in my mind when I need to buy yet another collar. Your little one's thank you card could do the same for you. :)
