WWYD?

A customer ordered a pre made cozy and in her comments on the order asked if I could make her one of my cozy covers with the same material. I replied that I could and that I would make it for her once she ordered it with the custom link I sent her. We went back and forth a couple times about some details and I was specific about that point a couple times.

I was hoping to ship out both items together to save shipping costs, because I offer free shipping. Her original order needs to be shipped out by tomorrow to comply with the time frame of the order. She still hasn't ordered the custom one that she asked for.

So my question is this, should I 1) Ship out the original order now. 2) Should I send a quick message reminding her that the custom order needs to be placed if she wants them both in the same package.

I don't want to bother her, but she keeps saying she wants this custom one, but just doesn't order it! Thanks!

Re: WWYD?

How many days have passed since she ordered the first item?

Re: WWYD?

She ordered it on Saturday July 30. My order says it needs to be shipped out by tomorrow. I usually ship out day of, so holding this order is killing me.

Re: WWYD?

Ask her one more time if she wants the custom item and add that you will ship the first item either way tomorrow. Send a duplicate message by email so there is no doubt that she has seen it. Perhaps she has changed her mind and doesn't know how to tell you. If she doesn't respond, deactivate the custom item after you've shipped.

Re: WWYD?

Elizabeth, I hope she buys the second cozy. When you create a custom order using conversations you don't get charged for it until it is purchased. And no one else can see it.

Re: WWYD?

Bev,

I took Richard's advice and she purchased the order within 5 minutes. :)
Thanks for the advice about the custom listing....I had no idea!

If she hadn't purchased it, I would have just tweaked the listing for a new one I'll be making this week.

Re: WWYD?

In my experience with custom listings through convos' you DO get charged the 20 cents to create the listing just like any other listing. When Etsy initial debuted that feature I think the payment was delayed until the customer made the purchase, but I have to click the 'agree to pay' button to create the custom listing through convo's. It's a bit harder to change into a regular listing if they don't make the purchase.

Re: WWYD?

I was told to list a custom order as reseved for the buyer as a regular post. If for some reason she doesn't buy it , I just remove the reserved wording and use it as a regular post. I was told to do this in another team. This seems to work for me.
