SEO helps ensure that your listings are getting traffic from search results both on Etsy and via outside search engines. Join us July 13 at 11:30 a.m. ET in the Online Labs ( http://etsy.me/labs713) where we’ll cover the best practices for getting found online. We'll discuss topics like choosing the right keywords, determining your target market, accurately categorizing your items, and learning from your Shop Stats.

I've got many of the same concerns as Aiman Sagatova from KazakhshaStyle. I was selling my work like crazy until a few months ago. I actually had a waiting list 6 months long for custom orders. Now I only get one or two sales a month. I've read all I can on proper keywords, titles and descriptions and I watch my shop stats just like I always have. Nothing seems to work lately. What has changed and what can I do to start selling again? This is my full-time job so I'm in real hardship right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please, please, PLEASE give us more than 20 spaces for tag descriptions! I'm constantly butting up against that limit (I hate the nasty red reminder). Rewriting tags is an acrobatic exercise. ¤ Also, and perhaps more important for accuracy, we desperately need to be able to use punctuation. Without hyphens and apostrophes we appear illiterate. Jewelers grade is not the same as jeweler's grade. Handmarbled looks garbled next to hand-marbled. And the "&" would help us squeeze into those limited spaces as well as set apart linked phrases such as "pen & ink" with its own accepted meaning. ¤ The sum is more than its parts.

I'm confused about titles and tags. Should I use a comma or don't use commas? Should my tags reflect my titles? Should I use adjectives in my titles? If my top keyword is skeleton key should all my titles start with that?

I'm just in the process of getting my Etsy shop ready to open. I'd really like to start every aspect off on the right foot. I know I have a lot of competition in my particular area so having help in getting people to find me will be huge. I am looking forward to this session. Thanks!!

When I first opened my Shop 4 years ago, there were wonderful online videos with Danielle, Nicki and the Team discussing Vintage. It would be wonderful to remember Vintage is still a part of Etsy and we are a very active community!

I have the same concerns as Carol Braden-Williams- I got twice the amount of views & sales last year (I actually noticed a drastic change in September 2014).

It seems no matter how much I keep tweaking my titles, tags & listings things get worse. I am obviously missing some key element that I had before September 2014.

I'm not being sarcastic, I genuinely don't understand what I need to do to get my sales back what they were. I have had about 125 repeat buyers who keep coming back, so I don't think it is my product or my customer service- I just don't rank high anymore. I want to understand what I can do to get found.

Looking forward to learning more. That being said, my question is, why doesn't Etsy make it easier for shop owners by creating a "self generating tags" for us based off our titles and descriptions. Then, we could simply go in and tweak something if we aren't happy with tags generated. After all, a shop owners time is better spent making product to sell. . . that's how we ALL make money.
This constant changing of the way searches work is costing us valuable time. Since Etsy knows what we are all doing "wrong" it would be super easy for you to make positive change and a positive impact to benefit the sellers. . . after all, we are your bread and butter too!

Please know I love Etsy, I promote it everywhere I go. I help folks just starting out, I'm a member on several teams and I believe this is a genuine need for the handmade artisans all over the world!! I truly believe if you need to continuously have help sections dedicated to the number one issues all shop owners are having, you also have the opportunity to make a huge impact to help all of us with what is the "number one issue" all shop owners have. Just my humble opions here.

Yes, why exactly.
I wanted to use "Watermelon Tourmaline" and "Yellow Picture Jasper" and there are not enough characters for these basic search terms! among others I want to use that I know are not tag stuffing.

Does the order of words in my item title matter?

If I have a listing as "size medium shibori mokume crew neck t shirt" and someone searches for "shibori t shirt" will I miss out because I didn't put those words next to each other in the title?

On a similar topic: Does the keyword section care about order and combinations? Is having "pure cotton" and "casual shirt" the same as having "casual" and "pure cotton shirt"?
