Very high target for 2012!!

I posted in a thread in the forums that my goal for 2012 is 1000 sales!

Now this may seem crazy to you- and it does to me! BUT I am a fan of high targets. I think they help the motivation and get me moving. Like now I have set the ridiculously high target I feel I have to work extra hard and get tons of new items listed and promote away and so on. So I am hoping that even id I don't make my target- having it will help me to achieve the best I can this year. And heck- if I miss it and "only" get to 600 sales- I'll still be pretty over the moon!!

Breaking it down- I would like to have 500 sales by my one year etsy-versary in July. Already it sounds a little more doable, but again- if I get even close I'll be soooo thrilled!

So- what's your target for the year?- do you aim high or like to have smaller goals? Do share- and don't worry if it sounds unrealistic, lets dream together! :-)

Re: Very high target for 2012!!

My target is to not need to go back to work come September. So I would need to be making at least minimum wage before then. That means I need somewhere between 1000-1500 sales in the 2012, or make items with a higher price-point!

I have a feeling that 2012 is going to have to be my year of understanding online marketing. Oh well... here goes!!

p.s. My fingers a firmly crossed for every single one of you!

Wow, good for you!
I'm really bad at making goals, but if I had one it would be to sell 100 appliques this year.

Our goal is to have 150 sales by our 1 year etsyversary in May and 300 sales by the end of 2012. When we started this store we had (what I thought) were realistic goals. We actually beat all of our original goals by double. Wishing everyone a great 2012!

Re: Very high target for 2012!!

I would really love to reach 100 sales by my one year anniversary in April - only 63 more sales to go. I know this means uploading more items, which I am definitely more than motivated to do this year. If I could over 100 for the year, even, that would be really great. :D

Re: Very high target for 2012!!

My goal is to start treating my shop like a business rather than something I squeeze in here and there. Lots of little goals related to that : get my Facebook fan page set up (check!), start a blog, market and network more, sew more, and generally use my time more efficiently. I'd like to have 36 more sales in my shop (for a total of 50) by this summer when I will take an extended vacation with my family.

And hope that that will drive some viewing buying people my way. My goal is to sell 1000 buy Sept. But that is really setting it high oh boy but reach for the stars and adjust as you go.

I think I'd like to set a goal of 150 sales this year. I'm a new shop and I'm working on getting inventory right now. I just hit 41 items this afternoon!

Re: Very high target for 2012!!

Well, I was thinking $100 profit this year would be nice. I bet I will get higher than that, but... (Note, profit is not sales, profit is what I make after I have paid fees, bought things, and gave myself a bonus.)

But, the goal I am thinking is to have a new line up in my shop within the month. A line that I can make more of instead of just one of a kind. I have some up already, but I am expanding. I look forward to it.
