Trying to sell more? Google Image Search Your Listings!

Hey everyone!
I uncovered something really awesome that could help you with your shop! It has to do with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and where you fall with your content for your listings.

1) Go to one of your listings (start with one of your more popular items first.)
2) Right click over the first image in your listing, and it will say towards 'Search Google for this Image.'
3) It will bring you to Google, and show you relevant places you're showing up!

I tried this because I sell Vintage items, and I was curious to see if I could find a comparable item via Google. Turns out I can't find the same item, AND I'm showing up in a ton of places on Etsy and a bunch of other sites (Pinterest, Blogs, Etc.,) which is awesome for your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and it's showing how well your content is working for you. Which in turn SHOULD be helping you sell more.

If you don't understand SEO, think of it as a Spider trying to spin a web. The more your product is showing up, the larger the web becomes, which makes it stronger and will become larger and larger, which again SHOULD sell you more items. It works for both Vintage and Handmade shops, but it works a little better for Handmade.

On top of all of this, the links you do show up in, you can click on them and it will show you which page you show up! (This is an Etsy.Com link reference.)

I've uncovered the less you're showing up on this image search, the less your content is working for you. So I would suggest looking at items that aren't selling very well in your shop. Try tweaking your Key Words and your Body Content. It SHOULD be able to help you!!

Another great thing is that this can work for both Vintage shops and Handmade Shops!

I've tried this with Firefox and Safari and don't seem to have the "Search Google" option on the menus - any suggestions?

Ya Im not getting to worth in FF, C or ie

Yall can just view image, copy the address and then past it into googles image searcher yourself. Bit more labor intensive but will get you the same results.

What I CAN do in Firefox is:
- rightclick the image and choose 'copy image location';
- in Google click the little camera in the search bar (image search) and paste that location.

I think this is a wrong conclusion.
You searched for YOUR photo, so (photos from) your competitors will not show up.

I was able to search this way, but I didn't find much with my images. Interesting exercise, though.

Yep, just seems to work with Chrome.

One other fact is that with Pinterest and some others it lets you select which thumbnail you want to pin so your first photo might not be the one someone pins. I searched for "Twisted Designs" the other day on Pinterest and I was very surprised how many of my items people had pinned using the second or third photo in the listing.

I tried it and I was very happy about how much my images are showing up in Google image search. I only found a problem with one of my valances which I had been thinking that I needed to remake in a bolder color scheme to get more attention. Now I will definitely be changing it and then checking to see if it makes a difference in how much it shows up.

Can anyone answer this? On some of my listings when I do a google search on the image, my image will appear with a description from another of my listings. The described listing will have nothing to do with the image. It may be displayed as a Pinterest listing or an Etsy listing.

Actually, at the bottom of the image search page, it will show you similar images that Google tracks by colors / contents in photo. I have actually found some of my other items doing this. It doesn't work EVERY time, but it's still something to keep in mind!

As for everyone else, I apologize I didn't specify that I was using Chrome.
