I hate the new shop layout!

Etsy admin feels they have to constantly revamp our shop layout for the buyer which is nice, but honestly, I can't find my way around my own shop. Buttons I use a lot, like the "rearrange your shop button" is totally missing. I like to see my pages at full view...not any more. I could go on but want to be somewhat nice and patient (?)!

Anyone else have their shop a test for this new layout?
What do you think?

NaNa, what Etsy is currently doing is TESTING ... trying things out ... sometimes it seems like they're throwing stuff up against the wall to see what sticks. LOL!

Anyway, nothing is set in stone yet. If you don't like what you're seeing, try a different browser (if you're on a computer) or a different mobile device (if that's how you're accessing the site). I have the sections test (with pics) on my phone but not on my laptop. Some people have said if you clear your cookies (in your browser), that may make your shop look the "old" way (pre-test). Other people say that if too many people do that, it could actually make the testing go longer since it may interfere with the results somehow.

Do not like it. I just set up a customer with a banner/logo set. I went to click on her shop so I could see my work and I can't because of the test.

I will have to get up and go to my other computer just to see her banner. If etsy does away with banners, I guess I'm out of business.

I too am not a fan of our current pages. In this shop, so far, nothing had changed. I don't have a banner here because I chose not to have.

But in my other two shops the layout is wonky and I don't like needing to click three times to move to my activity for the day.

I wish etsy spent more time on what the sellers have asked for in the past.

Some of the great ideas I have suggested came from the PEEK reviews we had not long ago. OUR customers reviewing and critiquing our shop layout.

I run around like a mad person between GOOGLE CHROME, FIREFOX & SAFARI. That way I can rearrange ( FireFox)
do Treasuries ( Google Chrome) or test my own waters, which are quite muddied ( Safari).

Every time i use a different computer to log in to Etsy the shop layout and my dashboard, etc are all in different places. Its so confusing!!!

lol, Becky. Yeah, I actually liked the new layout (other than losing the banner and announcements) at first glance, because my shop has many different items, and this layout highlights the different sections available.

Then I tried finding something...it is next to impossible!

My shop went back to "normal" finally but I still have to click way more times than usual to get somewhere.
I think Etsy should concentrate on the List a New Item form.....the choices in the drop downs don't apply to most things I list!

Tana......do you know if they take our feedback and comments here into consideration during their testing?

I feel bad using such a strong word as hate, but I was so frustrated with not getting around my shop easily, that that is all I could feel!

I finally got out of the test and now I'm afraid to delete cookies! Every time I do I go back into some form of testing! I also am an avid reader and have a Nook which I can't seem to get my viewing back to normal on no matter what I try.

I hope everyone does the survey and gives their opinion. Some parts of it are ok, but I find it very unfriendly on mobile devices.

I had two different test models. Then one morning, my shop was back to normal. It lasted only one or two days, and I'm back to being a guinea pig.

If you put in
www.etsy.com/shop/"The name of your shop"/rearrange
you can rearrange in your original shop look, which is what buyers who aren't sellers are seeing.

I have two issues with the new design:

1) No banner or shop announcement.
I am planning to go on vacation soon, and rather than putting my shop in vacation mode (which means no sales), I typically make it clear on my banner and announcement that shipping will be delayed until ___. There also seems to be no way to promote sales and discounts without a banner or shop announcement. Someone please let me know if I'm missing where to find this.

2.) The sections for "all items" and "newest items" show the exact same listings.
This means more space it taken up without more products being shown. As a shop with over 200 items, I feel a bit slighted that only a handful are actually visible from the main shop page. I would suggest that the "all items" section be selected randomly, or maybe the previous 4 items (not the most recent). I don't want to see duplicates on the same screen view when I have 200 other items that are now hidden from the new design.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I pointed that out in my feedback to them. It seemed like a waste of space to show the same thing twice. I also said that I want to choose the items on the front of each section. I don't know how much it matters, but if you haven't done the survey, it can't hurt to go ahead and tell them what you think.

I don't mind the shop sections with pictures, but I wish they were still in list form on the left side of the page too. And I'm hoping if they keep this design that once the testing is over we will be able to choose the item to represent our sections. That's kind of a no brainer, so hopefully it will be the case.

I don't like that we can't search in a shop from their homepage, you have to click something first.

I also want my banner and shop announcement back! And I want all of my sold items to show including custom orders. The way they have it now you can't even tell if a shop has ever done a custom order unless they use regular listings instead of building a custom listing.

I went from having a shop to being a buyer and I love the change so much, so much easier to browse but that's my opinion.

My "recently favorited" is only showing one item. That doesn't look very good to buyers with all that blank space next to it. It looks like I've only had one item favorited. And I have had several favorites since that particular item was favorited, so why would it show only one item?

Okay, I have a big complaint now. The shop sections are gone from the left side of the page! I know they were already gone form that area on the home page which I don't like, but now the list of shop sections isn't anywhere. You have to go to the home page and scroll down everytime you want to change sections!!! Please tell me that is a glitch because that could only have a NEGATIVE effect on views and sales.

I don't like being a complainer, but all this testing is annoying. I guess I kinda sorta understand the different layouts to see what works with different mobile devices and browsers. Not sure everyone will be completely happy no matter what. Just settling on something so we can get used to it would be helpful.

Another point, and I'm trying to put myself in a buyers position as far as feedback goes. It must be difficult to figure out how to do it. I rarely get feedback reviews, but have some nice convos about how happy buyers are with items they received. Of course, no one sees it but me. I don't want to be in a position where I have to go back and beg for feedback.

Hope this all works out in the end.

I hate this new layout! I never really take part in surveys but I did for this. I think it's unorganized and confusing. I loved how you could brand yourself on your page with your banner/logo and announcements but now that's gone, and you can't even show case a good amount of items anymore on your first page. Ugh. I loved etsy up until right now, i'm extremely frustrated with it especially since I just updated my banner and logo!
